Yukon XL Denali with the 6.2, we also had a suburban with the 5.3. no issues out of either.

If I had to do it over again I'd get the Yukon XL with the baby max in it.

The Ford option looks nice but have never owned a Ford.

Have the regular sized Expedition (Not the Max). Its been great. Only issues are the native navigation (easy workaround with your cell phone) and the gear knob (you get used to it after a bit)

You paying cash? If not, can you pay cash for smaller SUV? If not, can you get note that you can payoff and start saving note for future cash for future vehicle purchase?

I ask b/c recently retired early. It’s incredible. I share b/c You are in one of those financial decision points that can have huge impact to your future self and financial independence options that you may not even yet realize. Cash is king.

Had Ford Explorer for years. Turbo issues killed engine (along with bad mechanic). My only regret vehicle purchase.

Good luck.

To all the people talking about Honda Odysseys, Pilots and all that--I wouldn't buy a new 3.5L because they changed their VCM.

That VCM is a piece of shite and will blow your engine up. The older versions could be bypassed, but Honda revamped the last year or two and most (if not all) aftermarket tuners won't work on the new engine.

Also, a tuner could void the warranty. But you're damn near forced to try to bypass the VCM or risk premature catastrophic engine failure.

The old ones could be tricked with aftermarket tuners to think the engine wasn't up to operating temperature. The cylinders would not shut down if the engine wasn't at temp. But I'm pretty sure Honda changed that shite and the tuners won't work on new engines.

If they'd ditch the VCM, I'd buy my wife a new Passport tomorrow.

I've always wanted a Tahoe/Suburban but the engine issues they have scare me.

Not really a legit ongoing issue. Have a 100,000 miles on 6.2L from 2023.

Go with a Tahoe or Yukon. I doubt you need the extra space of suburban.

The OT is slipping, not one mention of the lack of station wagons these days.
