I’d much rather an FCA product than a Nissan product.
So would your local mechanic that specializes in electrical issues.
Nissan screwed the pooch with the outsourcing of the CVT transmissions in their cars and light SUVs.. but their reliability other than that outpaces a lot of other vehicles.
While the GM dealership was replacing AFM lifters and cams, Toyota was replacing entire engines, Stellantis was also replacing AFM lifters and camshafts along with oil coolers and wiring issues, and Ford was replacing cam phasers... Nissan was changing oil and sending their cars out the door if they had the non CVT transmissions.

That’s your opinion. I won’t change it, same as you won’t change mine. I’m affiliated with a firm that has dozens of light trucks, mostly RAM but also Ford & GM. The RAM vehicles perform much better. I’ve driven three separate Jeep Grand Cherokees (MYs ‘14, ‘20, & now ‘24) putting ~50k per year on each of them. I’ve never been left on the side of the road by any of them. I’ve had a recall on the alternator of the ‘14 which has been the only time I’ve had to visit the dealership with any of them. That’s over 600k of miles.
FCA is strong, Nissan is on the brink of insolvency.
But you’re correct, the market and the investment community are all wrong.

The GM 5.3L isn’t having any issues AFAIK.
I have a 2019 5.3L and it's doing just fine. Only ~54k miles though.

The 5.3 is standard in every trim with the exception of the High Country trim package.

Toyota Sienna or Mercedes Sprinter van. Don’t run with the boring Tahoe/Yukon/Expe crowd. Good luck trying to find a Sienna though…they disappear quickly from lots.
It’s hilarious to me that grown ars men feel like they have to compete with the Tahoe soccer mommies in the school drop off line.
We've had multiple vans. We don't do car line, all bus kids.

I’m late but.. have a 2020 Expedition. It’s ok. 103k miles. Transmission is janky and makes me nervous, have had to replace some cooling system parts because they use plastic in high heat areas.
Every suburban/yukon I ride in has a noticeably better ride and feel. My Expedition rattles and drives like a crappy truck. If I were replacing it today I’d most likely be going suburban or Yukon.
Expedition came from the factory missing the driver side rear end link. Didn’t discover until out of warranty. It was simply never installed at the factory. Which is insane.

Why do you need something so big?
Bc his wife is too cool for a minivan. He has to spend double the money for something less useful just so she can feel cool

It doesn’t have the cylinder deactivation?

5.3 get lifter failures too. Not at a high rate as 6.2

Maybe. Or maybe he hauls a boat/trailer and would like something more capable. Or maybe he just likes the look better and makes enough money to not worry about the cost.

My wife's refusal to own a mini van pisses me off to the fricking extreme.
My mother insisted on driving a minivan because nothing else could hold all her shite when we travel. She would be FURIOUS if we ever rented one on vacation and some slick guy at the counter thought she’d be satisfied with a suburban. They’re big but they don’t actually hold more because they lack the height a minivan has inside the cabin.

I would wait until the new model suburban comes out. They are replacing the 5.3 and 6.2 V8 with something else.
I would stay away from the 6.2 and 3.0 diesel
I drove a new expedition a while back. The dash is distracting. I did not like it.
