I’ve owned ford a few times and my first GM.
You can’t go wrong either way.
Had an Explorer which was amazing. Great build quality. Now I have a new Navigstor.
Have an Escalade as well. Reliability during my childhood was awful so I was hesitant, but I could afford to deal with a lemon if it happened. It has not.
Neither vehicle is bulletproof, but both vehicles are designed for the American lifestyle.
Acceleration and power for both vehicles are comparable, one just does it with a turbo.
I hate the auto start stop feature. Moybe wait until ‘27 so the car companies can ax it due to trump?

I think I’d go with the Pilot. I don’t trust reliability and quality with Hyundai or Kia. My daughter has had 2 Hyundais, one had an engine recall and other issues and basically zero help from the dealership when replacing engine. It was a Tuscon and it started falling apart; then the engine, before it was paid off. And the Santa Fe, she ditched when warranty was expiring because of the issues with the Tuscon. I don’t think they stand behind their vehicles. Kia? Because it’s similar to Hyundai.

Funny how this works. It wasn't that long ago that 1-3 kid families all had cars.
Yep, times change. They have a lot of crap with them. Not all about arse in seats.

Love our Yukon, but it’s a 2019 and hasn’t had any major issues. Yet. I’d be as wary of the transmission as the engines on a GM product.

Minivan. Honda or Toyota. Buy used and drive it forever.
I bet you have a ton of debt.
Had 2 vans, love them. No debt.

Lexus LX is a fine ride but the cargo space is small. That’s a downer for me, but the comfort and ride is legit

Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey. You can thank me later.
This is the correct answer. Specifically, Toyota.
I drove Fords for many years. Their quality has gone downhill immensely over the years.
Went with a Toyota and will never go back to a Ford or GM.

Conspicuous consumption duly noted.

Expedition.
I’m close to 35K miles per year which is not the norm for most.
Great ride and engine is solid.
Also, Ford has new leadership the last couple of years and the improvement is noticeable.

The raise hell praise dale era of GM ended 15 years ago. They are absolute junk now.

Is there not a Japanese SUV big enough? Do not get a 22 or newer Sequoia though, the engine that replaced that 5.7 is terrible.

Toyota Sienna or Mercedes Sprinter van. Don’t run with the boring Tahoe/Yukon/Expe crowd. Good luck trying to find a Sienna though…they disappear quickly from lots.
It’s hilarious to me that grown ars men feel like they have to compete with the Tahoe soccer mommies in the school drop off line.

I got the new beta sliding door Suburban and love it.
Have minivan and expedition, I much prefer driving the van around the city. Expy for highway driving and trips.
