That said, are generators safe at a place like this?

I look forward to this thread next year when power goes out and every townhome has a generator on the porch, and there’s a video showing that the property sounds like a server farm with gas plumes everywhere.

I would train my dogs to shite in the yards of the HOA president and the person who sent that email and the neighbor who complained (they know which neighbor it was) and not pick it up.

That says more about the members of your old hood that they would keep her in her position.

Probably a good thing you moved, since it appears that most people in your hood tend to agree with the HOA nazi.

seems like this email should have been sent way before this occurance... i mean, did they just put the generator in the day before? the generator had to have been there for a while, yet the HOA said nothing before then??

Well, no sh*t, it’s temporary. I wouldn’t live in an HOA with a free home.

Yeah I think people are just reading the title and thinking it's some normal subdivision where they are doing this.

That looks like a terrible place to live in general but definitely not a place to be running generators around the clock

HOA is nothing more than a communist organization. Anyone that signs up to live under the rule of one is getting exactly what they asked for and I do not feel sorry them.

These HOA ppl are often weasels with zero power/authority and use the position as an outlet.

Only executives and business owners should occupy these positions.

they live to write letters to homeowners.

They get paid (at least in Katy) to send citation notices. They have a regular schedule to come through each neighborhood to write as many as they can before moving onto the next 'hood.

Whatcha bet these same people governing these HOAs are the same people that say Trump is Hitler.

Hypocrisy at its best.

But just hours after starting up the generator, Caravello received an email from their HOA management company, Metropolitan Properties, demanding they “remove it immediately.” The letter cited fire hazard concerns and said the generator didn’t fit the community’s aesthetic guidelines

“Super angry because why is that even a possibility right now? Why do they care so much when people are just trying to stay warm and survive?” Caravello said about being forced to move the generator inside.

If you don’t want to follow HOA rules, don’t buy in that neighborhood.

I shouldn’t have to listen to your lawnmower generator 24/7 because you can’t layer and build a fire.

If they're not letting them run a generator temporarily, I'm pretty damn sure any type of actual fire is going to be against the CCRs

Most HOAs have a policy whereby you have X number of days to respond or comply. They should have ignored request and just complied after the power came back on.

Not sure I have ever heard of immediate compliance with no recourse whatsoever. That’s Nazi shite. LOL
