re: Fake tweets, cancel culture and unexpectedly going viral on Twitter

Thought this was going to be about misinformation being spread about the 2020 Presidential Election.

I troll a ton on twitter and when it gets to a certain point and I’ll ask where in country the person lives and to give me an address to meet them at to resolve the matter personally.

Obviously I have zero intention of actually ever doing that, but every single time I’ve done it the other person immediately will change their tone and backtrack. It’s hilarious how any possibility of dealing with something in person scares these morons off.

Lol. I've offered to meet people at such and such place at such and such date and time so they can tell me in person the shite they're saying on the internet. You know, come have a discussion with me face to face. It always ended with them calling me crazy for even suggesting such a thing.

It's where someone does or posts something you don't like so you go after them in their personal life, try to get them fired, evicted, kicked out of school, etc.

The fact that so many people thought that what he did should have resulted in him being fired is scary.

You really have no idea how people will react to something. I really hope that we get to a point where the outrage will get ignored.

Social media is like a gun. It is very useful, but in the hands of idiots it is very dangerous.

Earlier I was texting with someone and they asked me if I saw that a doctor from Harvard was involved in creating the coronavirus. They saw it on twitter. A quick fact check shows that the story is fake.

So many people take what they see on social media at face value and when the wrong people see that information you have no idea what the reaction will be. Emotional intelligence really needs to be taught to people. People need to be taught how to control themselves once they see something that causes an emotional reaction.

One of my relatives who teaches got accused of being racist for correcting a black kid's grammar. Strange times we're living in.

Problem is, it puts tweets that people that you follow like or retweet on your feed. For example, I was following Rex Chapman who tweets some hilarious “block or charge” shite. Unfortunately, he’s also left in his politics, and some really ridiculous stuff was regularly showing up in my feed. Same with several baseball writers.
