Then, the mayor hollowed out downtown foot traffic with stupid COVID restrictions that the city might never recover from. The last stats I saw showed the downtown had lost 70% of its foot traffic on a weekly basis versus pre-Covid.

I was in STL for a weekend Cards series back in 2023 and could not believe how empty downtown was esp on Friday. I had hoped by now the Covid nonsense wore off, but I guess not. Place was like a morgue outside of Busch and its bars.
BBQ. I mean..I don't dislike it, but as long as the meat is cooked properly, it all tastes the same. I don't get the competitions or some guy sitting by his smoker for 8-10 hours and people making a huge deal out of it. It's BBQ. Smoke, meat, tomato or vinegar based sauce. It's all the same.
He has always been a trash bag. I never understood why conservatives genuflected to him the last few years.

That last strike was dirtier than a coal miner's face after a double shift
Russian women..on AVERAGE...have 10 abortions by the time they reach menopause. I read this stat abt 25 years ago.

Just had to replace the rear differential on my 2018 F150 KR at 83K. Thing shredded to pieces internally. Sounded like the prop flying off a B17.
I would just be happy if they actually showed up and quit texting me that they " cant make it out until next week"
I went there several times as a teenager. Great camp and experience. I was never molested but there were some female counselors I wished would have molested me.

That's all I've got.

I bet it went down at Fat Harrys down the street

I was just about to post this.
Company I worked for in the early 2000s went through this. Bought by a larger company. We were told for 18 months after the acquisition that "nothing will change...we are leaving everything as is. You guys are already doing your jobs well". After 18 months we were all called into a meeting. We could move out of state to the new company's HQ and stay there at least 1 year and be rewarded with a bonus = to 50% of our salary. Or stay for 4 months in the current location and get a bonus = to 15% of our salary. I left as soon as I found something comparable within two months.

They always lie in these types of deals.

Do they exist to "give" CEO's record salaries? Is that their purpose?

Businesses can do whatever they want to do with their money. If they choose to give CEOs exhorbitant salaries/bonuses at the expense of retaining talented and hard working individuals or innovating process' or equipment, then the business will eventually get passed by competitors and either cease to exist or pivot. You can't force businesses to do anything. They are there solely to make a profit. By doing this efficiently and making a solid product/service, they are serving the common good but that is not their purpose. It's a byproduct.

How the frick does baseball not make money?

Baseball at its best has broken even. Its a niche sport with a smaller TV contract (I know this is shocking, but outside of abt 7-8 SEC teams' fanbases and a few ACC teams, nobody pays attention to college baseball until Omaha), and expensive travel due to player totals(compared to basketball), number of games, etc.
Tailgating. You drag all that shite out there, set up at 7AM (or earlier), sit out there all day listening to shitty music, break all of said shite down after the game, load said shite all up into truck, clean and put away said shite when you get home. Exhausted for the first 2 workdays of the week.

Just go the stadium 30 min before kickoff. Go home.

Or better yet, watch it from home and be able to watch other games in HD during halftime or commercials, use your own bathroom, and drink and eat your own food/beverages for much cheaper. And not have to sit next to the guy in the stadium who thinks he's a legit OC because he played back up RB on his middle school team in LaFourche Parish.
My dad had a '75 Cutlass Supreme. We got it up to 95 one time and it felt like we were on smooth glass. With glass wheels. My balls went up into my throat.
While bad, don't undersell that absolute arse kicking Bama handed us in Tiger Stadium that November. That game was essentially over before the 1st Qtr ended. I can't believe I drove to BR and sat in the rain for that nonsense. Team was completely unprepared and got prison raped.
And why are they always wearing an unbuttoned, thin flannel shirt over a regular t shirt? Every.single.time. I've never dressed like that in my life.
