I was in Rome in a hot October and they wouldn't turn the ac on during the day. It was rough went to a store and bought fans.

get that they don't need it too often, but why not buy a window unit for the occasional heat wave? They're like $300.

Even in other first world countries the people there dont have disposable income like we do here. A 300 dollar purchase for something rarely used is not common for them like it is for us

I went backpacking through Europe in the early 2000’s. I was in Paris when they had a record heat wave. I stayed in a hostel and I would get up off my sleeping mat and you could see an outline of my body in sweat. It was brutal because they simply aren’t equipped for the heat. I think over 120 people died those few days in Paris. This Mississippi baw was shaken but I can run a trotline.

The infrastructure of European towns and buildings can't support air conditioning. Or clothes dryers, or decent plumbing.

There is a European heatwave every year…nothing to see here. Try being there in Sicily while the rolling blackouts happen too.

I know a heavy girl from down the bayou. She went on a trip to Europe and stayed in Germany for a night. No ac in the hotel. She was dying with all them rolls.

And France hasn’t adopted deodorants yet.

Not enough spare quid and euros to spend on such rubbish. Taxes for government overreach, social services and footing the bill for Middle Eastern occupation are more important!!! Bloody Hell!!!

Annual Toll: The World Health Organization estimates that extreme heat claims over 175000 lives annually across the wider European region.

To add data: In America the heat related annual deaths are about 2,000.

This shouldn’t surprise anyone. UK is behind every state but MS when it comes to average income. There is certainly a lot a wealth in Europe, but there is more poverty than people realize.
