Yes, the motor would be fine, but you need to do the math to see if it makes sense for you.
I had an AT4 pickup with it. I drove 600 mile trips in it, so it made sense for me. I always came out ahead in a smaller diesel than a gas burner.
The main culprit of clogging DPFs is letting them idle.
One thing you need to do religiously is run some kind of diesel additive for lubricity. I always ran something with every tank, and I never had any high pressure fuel pump problems.
I have my custom tailor make all of my stuff out of the finest lotus silk and Vicuna wool. Only the best will suffice.
