Oh I definitely agree, but I’m just getting tired of people at my work acting like it’s some big gotcha moment when someone who has been vaccinated gets Covid.

Well you do have covidiots saying they are 100% immune when that was never the case, so in that context it is a gotcha.

And the vaccine companies never advertised it as such, so again, just misinformed democrats.

Wife's aunt and uncle have it now after both being vaccinated. Neither are really sick though. He said he's just tired and she has a nagging cough. Their adult son gave it to them. He's not vaccinated and has been pretty sick for the past week.

how come i've never had the flu? It's been around longer than i've been alive, so you'd think at some point i would have caught it, especially since i've never gotten a flu shot, and slept in a bed with someone who had it twice in the last 5 years.

I have a few questions that maybe teh OT docs can answer.

1) Where did the regular flu go?
2) How do we know that we are experiencing a "variant" vs. regular old coronavirus?
3) Has anyone ever thought that maybe CV is seasonal?
4) Where was the variant hiding the last 3-4 months?
5) What are the death rates among the variant?
6) what are the statistics on variant? How many test positive? How many hospitalized? How many deaths?
7) What is the biological makeup of variant positives? Obese? Smokers? Unhealthy? Race?

Smackover, how are you treating those who test positive and are "sick" but not sick enough to need the hospital? Are there any restrictions on what you are "allowed" to do?

My brother has it now. Was vaccinated with the Pfizer one.

No vaccine will stop this thing with the low percentage of takers. This will mutate forever. Just hope a future variant doesn't become more deadly and affect children or something. But I'm sure that day is coming.

The wife (no pics, sorry) and I both got the vaccine (she had Moderna and I got Pfizer) and both tested positive the end of last week. She has had a really bad head cold and decent cough for the past 5-6 days while I have had ZERO symptoms at all.

I’ve been legitimately exposed twice in the last 10 days and to my knowledge have not had covid previously. Vaccinated in December and zero signs of any symptoms. Either my immune system is insane or the shot is doing its job. I had antibodies in mid June still. It does appear delta is breaking through the vaccines a little more but hospital and death data strongly suggests it’s working very well at preventing the latter.

The Olympics will be a great test for how many variants are breaking through for cases (not hospitalizations or serious cases) because they are being tested so much more than any of us ever will.

I read that about 85 percent of the US team is vaxxed and 75 percent of athletes in the village are.

So far only two positives in the US, one of whom was a guy who I believe was not vaccinated.

I fully expect damn near nothing to happen to anyone who is Covid positive in the Village but we will have some real time data on transmission in the next 20 days.

I'm just curious to how common this is.

Of the current positive tests of cases involving hospitalization, 3% were vaccinated (as compared to 56% of U.S. population that has received at least 1 dose and 49% fully vaccinated). So it is happening out there.

You’ve had it and never known or your immune system took care of it before showing any symptoms. The difference is we have never tested asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic people for the flu. If we did there would be positives everywhere.

Most viruses produce many asymptomatic cases, not just covid.

Friend of ours about 30 years old has COVID and was vaccinated. I'm just curious to how common this is. FYI - I'm one of the people that never get a flu vaccine, so didn't get the COVID vaccine either.

Recently I am aware of several that have tested positive that are fully vaccinated. Only one required hospitalization though.
