Yep. Friend of mine, late 30s she's been vaccinated about a month. Just got covid.

Right, the vaccines we all took in the US were supposed to prevent covid cases by 95 percent against the original version and close to that in the UK variant.
It seems very likely that happened.
The Delta variant escape factor is higher. It’s just a matter of how much. Some of the UK studies showed similar numbers in the low 90 percent range. Others have shown in the 80s. The Israeli study that showed mid-60s is considered dubious but the Singapore study showed only about 70 percent. So for Delta the escape factor is something between 65 and 92 percent. Obviously a big difference.
Even with the original, if you knew 20 vaccine takers, you would likely know someone who got Covid in the next 6-8 months after taking the second dose of the vaccine. I’m sure the social networks plus workplaces of most people here is far larger than 20 people.
So far I haven’t heard of anyone who got covid post vaccine or a second case of covid.
I knew people who got Covid as early as mid-March 2020, a few hospitalizations in exactly the kind of people you would expect, and one death in someone who surprised me.
I have heard of one Delta variant positive, in an unvaccinated older man in decent physical health and he was hospitalized for a week and is now out but not 100 percent yet.

Did not read thread. Have a neighbor who is mid 60’s had both vaccine shots and about 3 weeks later tested positive for COVID. He has been in the hospital for about a week now. They just put him on a ventilator.

Epidemiologists said from the beginning around 85% of the worlds population would eventually become infected at some point. IMO, therapeutics to keep people out of the hospital will be the best long term solution. I know of 9 different fully vaccinated they got sick.

Yes. 3 people. One was vaccinated with the J & J, one with the Moderna, one with the Pfizer.

Have 2 friends, husband and wife, vaccinated last December. Both tested positive recently.

Yes I do. it was actually a doctor that coached my kid basketball. He got vaccinated and not long after being vaccinated he caught COVID.

You can absolutely still get Covid. It’s supposed to lessen the symptoms to where they are minimal or not felt at all.
And yet the number of cases is what is being pointed to in order to restrict personal freedom.
I’m still not sold on the numbers yet. I was told by the MSM that 99% of all new cases are people that are unvaccinated. I don’t buy that percentage (at all).

Friend of ours about 30 years old has COVID and was vaccinated. I'm just curious to how common this is. FYI - I'm one of the people that never get a flu vaccine, so didn't get the COVID vaccine either.
You are aware it wasn’t presented as 100% protection from catching it, just substantially reduced and nearly eliminating the worst outcomes

Vaccines protect from the symptoms and severity of disease, not from disease itself.
