Besides the whole payroll aspect, college football (and basketball to some extent) are more like pro sports these days than they were 5-10 years ago. With the transfer portal and NIL availability, changing a roster year over year isn't as difficult as it used to be, so a team like Buffalo being pro...

The schools in the middle of all of the stuff LSU was involved with, ie Kansas/Duke/Arizona, heavily rely on their basketball program as the premiere sport team on their campuses, while LSU relies on football. LSU sacrificed basketball and cowered to the NCAA solely to save football from any signif...
