re: Dr Fauci says positive test numbers not good indicator - STEVED00
Nah bc still a vast number of people who have the virus are not getting tested. It seems they have a good handle on what % of the cases are serious enough to require hospitalization and if you are in the hospital for a respiratory illness then you will get tested. You can then back calculate the act...

re: 3-25-2020 COVID-19 Numbers for Louisiana - STEVED00
No, it is 3.6% of those who felt badly enough to seek care, got tested, got a positive result and subsequently died.
My understanding is that a high % of carriers have no symptoms and another high % have minor symptoms. Those people are not getting tested so the 3.6% given the ...

re: Outdoor activities conducive to social distancing like golf, fishing, tennis - STEVED00
People are going to go stir crazy confined to their houses and will just start going to the “approved” places like grocery stores and hardware stores just to get out. Why not give people some good options that accomplish both social distancing and fun activities?...
Ridiculous, really. Just stay 2 club's length away from your caddy and you're good.
Other than sharing a cart which u can obviously eliminate, I can’t think of a time in my many years of playing golf where there was ever a need to stand w/I 6 ft of the person I was playing with. ...

Outdoor activities conducive to social distancing like golf, fishing, tennis - STEVED00
I have seen a lot chatter of golf courses (and driving ranges), parks with tennis courses, and boat launches shutting down as a result of the virus. Also family camping trip seems to the ideal social distancing activity. Aren’t these the types of activities we should be encouraging probably with...

re: Louisiana COVID-19 12PM CT Update: 1,172 Cases - 5,948 tested - 34 dead - STEVED00
TBH, it probably depends what happens with all of this. If tens of thousands people die. Then yeah, we'll probably look back and say we should've cancelled Mardi Gras, that accelerated the spread. ETA: Regardless, it was always going to spread fastest in densely populated areas.
...

re: Louisiana COVID-19 12PM CT Update: 1,172 Cases - 5,948 tested - 34 dead - STEVED00
People keep blaming NOLA for all this but it is pretty clear that the reason NOLA is the hot spot is bc of Mardi Gras when thousands of people from all around the world descended on NO right at the time the virus was making its way to the US. Are we mad that NO didn’t cancel Mardi Gras?? ...
