Do you have expectations to one day get some inheritance funds?

Talking with several people (mostly younger generation), they have a level of entitlement to some sort of inheritance. Most express love for their parents, but are waiting on things like buying a home or other big purchase until they receive inheritance funds. Most not even sure if there are any or to what amount it would even be. Just more of an expectation.
What say you, OT? Do you expect something to fall in your lap one day? Are you planning on leaving behind anything for your kids?
Tell me about this concept, OT!?

Hell no. I hope they spend every dime enjoying their golden years doing what they love.

Not a dime, and I am perfectly okay with this.

My folks have some money and they have told me where it is all located in case something happens to them (I am the most responsible of their 3 kids).
I told them they raised 3 successful children who don't need their money and don't live modest in your golden years so we can have an inheritance.
I hope the last check they write before kicking the bucket bounces.

It'll really blow up in their faces when they vote in a President who enjoys taxing inheritance in a misguided and nonsensical attempt to distribute wealth more evenly.

Not expectations but I guess it would be nice. Hopefully not for another 30+ years when I'm about 70.
I'm not planning to leave anything for my kids, although I guess that would be nice also if able. I'm just trying to save enough from working for 40+ years to afford retirement. If anything is left over, even better. I'm guessing by then that I'll want to spend all of it on the best new Matrix simulation (or maybe I already did that?).

So they don't feel like they are entitled to an inheritance. Sounds like they are trying to not make the mistake of financing themselves to death like their parents generation did.

Hell no.
I've been supporting myself since I was 17 for the most part, never have received anything and never will.

I hope my parents live long enough that they spend all the money they earned.
I save as if that will happen.

My mom owns rental houses that provide her monthly cash flow and I anticipate I will be running the day-to-day of that when she is too old to do so.
Being that the houses are not very liquid I also anticipate that my brother and I will get the portfolio when she’s gone.

No no no. My dad left me with close to $13k in debts because he never officially married my step mom, they still call me asking me to set up a payment plan and get hung up on with the quickness.
My mom is now a Woman of God. Her and my preacher step dad have already willed away everything to the church except my grandpas old 30 acres out in BFE Southwest Texas.
Absolutely zero expectations.

I will probably inherit some money. I intend to save it and give it to my kids and grand kids.

Already got mine! House and land in South Alabama. I bought some property back in 80’s that joined what I knew I would inherit. My 2 kids will get some cash and minor property when I sign off. get it all when the wife is gone.

No.
Am I possibly inheriting a couple of very nice houses?
Yes, from my mom. My dad has already said I get his condo in Denver.

no
my sincerest hope is that my parents pass on with an empty bank account, which means they spent it all enjoying the time they have left

I am self-m'fing made. Not waiting around for inheritance to buy a house, pay for nannies/school, or pay off student loans. Everything is our own hard work.

That will happen with my parents. The real estate they own won't be sold though.
