I'm in a weird spot. My wife and I are 27 and 26 respectfully and we make just under $130k a year. However, we are furnishings our house so we are constantly buying items that are a few grand a pop. Dining table, bedroom and spare bedroom furniture, living room, etc.
We are not big spenders but shite it is depressing dropping that money every few months.

I am in financing. You probably wouldn't be surprised at how many people apply for financing on a car with a $1300/month income who claim they will gladly pay $1,000 a month for the car

30K Millionaires don't bother me in the least. Most of it is simply being young and ignorant to finances before knowing how it will all come crashing down. I see this a lot... the married 30-40 YO family who is the $250,000.00 zillionaire. Big houses, naturally. But where the money is spent is in furnishings, clothing, shoes and entertainment. The men work and the women play house and tennis. $60.00 lunches add up. Central Market crap and wine adds up. Neiman's and Nordstrom add up. Then the divorcees, ohh the divorcees. These women haven't had a career since the 90's and suddenly can't figure out life. Real Estate schools love these snobs.
A lot goes into being a $250,000 zillionaire like how long have they been making 250k and how much they were able to make off their previous houses. I understand what you are saying and every time I drive by one of these new neighborhoods where the houses range from 350k to 650k I tell myself I'm not doing something right. 3 kids private school, bass boat, SXS, New F-250, and wife driving a Audi or Lexus.

Ehh i don't think not having savings in your 20s is really that bad. Some people aren't out of school until almost 30.

My old roommate had a $1200/month car note while making $33k at Chase Bank.
He had to get a 2nd job as a waiter to pay the note.
He just graduated with his MBA at LSU. He wants to be in finance.
I'm horrified at the thought of him managing anyone's money.

Sounds like the guy had a good time. I think I would rather keep working and live the good life versus people I have known who lived like monks, retired at 60 and died a couple of years later really never enjoying their savings. My investment counselor would love to see me putting 40% of my income into retirement funds. frick that.

Pretty sure that's one of the requirements after getting the job. That or a 30 year old Tacoma, Ranger or S10

My little brother. Granted he's only 20 but mfer makes 20k/year in college waiting tables and still buys shite like a 60inch TV to sit 5 feet away from, a $2k gaming computer, and a $3k couch. Still asks my parents for gas money though
You two have no idea who your dad is, huh?

I don't know. It's an F-250. I don't know all of the options on it.

All the people in here bitching like they are promised tomorrow. As long as someone is able to support their family, and pay their bills i dont care what they are spending money on. What is worse is the ones who are (saving every penny)... lol for what? To pay for your funeral? You only get one life, why not enjoy it while you actually can in your 20s,30s,40s... even of you make it to your 60s and 70s wtf are you going to do with all the money you saved? You are actually at the age you can travel and enjoy things in your middle age years, so why not do it then before you are old and washed up

Back in college I used to drive a Corvette Z06 with my parent's money. Full time student and no part time job. Does that count?

They're parents were the same way though. Always had to tell you how much something cost and spent money frivolously. He was 73 yrs old and still working full time when he died.
Outside of the telling people how much you spent on something, what is wrong with that life?
I"m not saving money so my kids can have an influx of cash when i die. I plan on spending my retirement savings. in a perfect world, i'll die shortly after I run out of money.
Some people just love saving money. Some people like spending it. My wifes grandparents have a shite load of money just saved up. They live in a 2 bedroom 1 bath house that my wifes maw maw's father built for her 60 years ago. The neighborhood is terrible now and it floods all the time. Literally the house gets water in it annually. They won't move, even though they could easily buy a half a million dollar house in cash if they wanted to, and still retire with loads of money. I guess they like the idea knowing their 3 kids will get a bunch of money, land and classic cars when they die. Very unselfish people that grew up poor. They'd rather their kids spend their money than themselves.
