had my 50th from WMHS last year. the old cliques are gone, and the new clique is all-inclusive. it's called "we lived." we're all just glad we made it this far. it was very enjoyable.

My dad's close to your age and they have the 65th coming up. Think they started doing them more often when they realized folks were dying off.

Plus they're from smalltown South Louisiana, so they have to keep up on politics, gossip, and old stories as long as they can.

I hope your father is in good physical and mental health, and still able to enjoy life. Kibitzing here is one my mental activities, along with duplicate bridge, Ancestry.com, and a lot of friends and neighbors.

Regards, and best wishes.

$0th was fun. Not at all like HS with cliques and such. Not much of the folks who feel like they need to show off how well they have done in life like 10th or even 20th to a degree.

Just a bunch of folks with a lot of life behind them remembering simpler times and enjoying each others company.

I don’t go. I don’t hate anybody and had a great experience. I just don’t feel the desire. Went to college and that was that for high school. I will always be friendly though if I run into any of them from time to time. I think I just want to remember them just as they were back then. Preserve in my mind what was and will never be again. Untainted by seeing their current realities resulting from the passage of time.

Went to 10 and 20. The 10th was okay, but people were still in cliquish high school mode. 20rh was great. People had chilled and were generally happy to see each other. And most of the girls were hotter at 38 than they were at 28.

Pretty much the exact same for my 10th and 20th.

And I’m not sure we’re even having a 30th. It’s supposed to be this year. But I think people really don’t give a shite.

I went to the 10 year reunion, passed on the 20th and got an invite to attend my 50th in 2020 but it was called off due to COVID and I don't know if they ever rescheduled------not that I was planning on going anyway.

There's very few of my old classmates that I considered friends enough that I'd want to see and there's no telling how many of them are not amongst us now.

I went to the 10 year because I was in town and it was free.

Other than my friend making an arse out of himself later in the night, it was fantastic. I enjoyed seeing people all grown up and some of the fantastic things they accomplished. Were there a couple of shite heads who treated it and me like we were still in HS? Sure, but it was an extreme minority. I doubt I'd ever travel back or pay actual money for one, but I definitely enjoyed my 10 year.

Yep...we had a really close class, and I enjoy catching up with them. I graduated from a moderately small HS (less than 300 in my graduating class) and the great majority of us went to school together since early elementary school.

I've been to my 10, 15, 25, 30 (didn't have a 20th), and have my 35th coming up in about 3 weeks. My best friend from HS is coming down from New Jersey, another good friend is coming from Nebraska.

I've had 5 class members pass away since the last one, and you never know if it will be your last chance to see some of these people in person.

You sound like you were picked on a lot in high school. I’ve never attended one of mine. But no resentment.

I've never attended a reunion and/or had the opportunity to assfrick a slightly portly ex-cheerleader.

I attended a very large all boys (at the time) high school. There were over 800 in my graduating class.

More to the point, I met an X-ray tech a couple of years ago while starting radiation therapy. This guy not only went to my high school, but graduated the same year I did. I had no recollection of him whatsoever! And he didn't know who the frick I was either. It's crazy to think that you can spend four years of high school together and still be complete strangers, but it can happen.

We've had a few die from my class and I assume we'll have quite a few more in the coming years.

Went to my 30th last year. I honestly despised most of them on high school, but 30 years changed 99% of us. Maybe 3 or 4 people were still assholish.
**also found out that we’ve lost two people to lethal injection over the years**

Damn.

Yeah, that was my experience as well. Not that we'll ever be best buds, but some of the bigger assholes in High School have turned out to be fairly decent people. Actually "Facebook Friends" with a couple now. Most people do change over time. Funny how you go to these things and you regress back to that high school mindset no matter what you've done since.

Saddest part is realizing all those that died during the reunion.

FB has sort of changed the game on reunions. I mean we didn't have that in HS or post HS for a long while, but you can keep up with who you want to keep up with these days.

We are having our 25th this year. Most folks seem excited about it, and I'm still surprised by how many flat out detest them.

Just had my 10 year one a year ago. It gives us another reason to get together, enjoy each others company, and drink a lot. Might not be the most popular opinion, but I like school reunions and the people in my class.

do the people who think they are too cool for high school reunions legitimately think they are bragging?

what is so wrong about enjoying high school, enjoying college, enjoying after college, enjoying starting a family, etc...?

"if i wanted to see those people after high school, i would have!!!!"

ok dude, that's awesome. maybe we all just want to have a beer with a couple people who we spent some time with in classes in high school and went our separate ways afterwards.

My 10 year will be next year (presuming we have a reunion) and I highly doubt I will go. Very few, if any, of those people care about me and I don't care to see most of them. There might be 2-3 people that I would be happy to see, but that's probably not enough to convince me to go.

What? I don't think very many successful people can't remember being a teenager in high school
