I actually had a feral cat have babies somewhere near my house and she found a way into my garage with her 3 kittens to keep them protected. She moved them in and out. It was bizarre. We never interacted at all. But we kept our garage open slightly so she could come in when wanted. She’s gone now. Kind of miss them.

I feed just about everything that shows up. Rabbits, birds, squirrels etc. We are all God's creatures.

Release the pit bull or cane corso and it ends quickly for the stray cat.

Well, actually, I feed them to the neighborhood coyotes.

This is what we keep barn cats for. Feed em just enough so they hang around, but not enough to keep them from hunting. Can never have too many because you never know when one or two find new homes or get taken out by coyotes.

Just adopted a cat someone dumped off near my house. Last Sat night, I went outside because my dog did not want to come in at her usual time. Walked outside figuring she found something and she had, a kitten that looked to be about 5 to 6 weeks old.
I checked to see if there were more nearby but I couldn't find any, so I caught her and got her cleaned up and fed. I had every intention to bring her to a rescue group as I've done before with other cats, but she ended up bonding with my dogs and then me while I was searching for a place to take her and now I've got a pet cat.
(I'm a big softy when it comes to abused/abandoned animals)
Of all the things to bond with my youngest blue heeler, a freaking cat has done it. They are inseparable now.
People drop animals off down my road all the time. They see the houses with kids and just assume someone will take in the animal they don't want. I'm not a cat person but I don't hate them so I try to find good homes for them when one gets dumped near me.

We have eight female and one male dog. Daughter rescues what city frickers dump off in the country. The combination of herding and hunting dogs makes every critter stay on the outside of the property. Every dog knows its place. 45 Free Range chickens and 2 turkeys.
