Not my checkbook but I balance my bank account in a Google spreadsheet. I might write 3 or 4 checks per year.

I am over 50 years old. I do Consulting work for the Banking Industry.

I still have the original checks a bank gave me when I opened an account 20 something years ago. I can’t tell you the last time I’ve seen an actual paper check ledger book.

Why would anyone do that to themselves?

You know you can still "balance your checkbook" in 2021 baw. It's just all electronic now. And you use cards instead of cheques.

i havent manually sent a check in 7+ years. I just press the button on my phone to send it if i need to send one.

Why would I need to balance a damn check book?

I personally dont even have one. wtf do you even need one for. just pay onw of the 25 different ways you can through your phone and have it come directly out. its not 1987 anymore.

I mean, you have to have some kind of balance, right?
Very Zen-like...

I have an credit card account that updates me via email with each transaction.

I pay it off monthly from a separate account* after review.

Mrs Füt (no pics) has set up all the household accounts (utilities, property taxes, etc.) on Direct Deposit from a community Household Account. And we have an AMEX card account that is paid out from that account.

At our household, the COVID “lost year” resulted in a decent amount of money to stay in-house in the household account.

Enough to at least take a pretty grand tour of Bawcomville.

She regularly reconciles the household account. (She SAYS)

*This second account doesn’t exist anymore because I accidentally dropped it overboard while navigating some body of water.

My kids school doesn’t have online payments, so we still have to write checks. My wife writes a ton of checks.

We delayed ordering checks last year when we were selling our house and my wife ran out. I found a check book and thought I still had some left. Opened it and it still had my parents address on it. I haven’t lived at home in over 20 years.

Every payday I write down the "bills" I have to pay. I do this via a note on my phone.

When I check my bank balance, I subtract the bills that haven't cleared yet, and make sure it's reasonable.

I don't write many checks at all, but I do have some things that come out at various times of the month, not all on payday.
