I have a checkbook from 15 years ago that still has checks. I wrote one for the first time in years a few months ago and still am not halfway through the book
In the age of fin tech, I see no reason to use checks unless forced. It’s easy to let technology balance for you and there’s a clear electronic trail that’s easy to follow.

I do the same, and have for literal decades. Used it when it was DOS based in the 90s.
But that process is ancient too. I've thought repeatedly about dropping it since they converted to a subscription model.
The software is shite and I can only imagine the smell of the room where it is "developed."

Or is that just a Boomer thing? Lol
Couldn't tell you how much I make each month or how much I spend each month. I just have my wife deposit my checks that come in daily and am lucky enough not to have to worry about a budget anymore.

Never, you can put alerts now if it gets too low. Always make sure it never gets below about 5k, wife does not have access to my accounts

The wifenopics balances it down to the penny. I mean I guess I'm glad she is concerned about our bank balance and all but she does it like she's afraid we might bounce a check. "Did you spend $57 at 303 on 4/11? I don't have a receipt for that."

I manage everything from an excel spreadsheet I made. Quick and easy to keep track of everything, see what I over spending on, and what's coming due.

Haven't written a check in 15 or more years.
I write about 3 checks per year because the place I get deer processed at only takes cash or check, and I don't always have enough cash in my pocket to pay.

I have my original temp checks in the safe.
I feel in cash or one credit card or one charge card.
