Not trying to be political, it does seem society took a quicker nosedive in the early 2010's and signficantly dropped after Covid.
Life has become so fast paced and ADD. We're always connected, getting pinged constantly by notifications, messages, calls, emails that people dont take the time to slow down and savor the moment they're in.
It's a constant dopamine drive of social media reactions, porn accessible at your fingertips, games scientifically built to suck you in...
It's only going to get worse the more things advance. I'd love to move out to the country and be on my own with the land, away from all the frantic chaos of society.

On the other hand I thought that was stupid bc I’ve seen too many stories like that end with someone dead and is it really worth it to say something?
It’s complete stupidity to engage with complete strangers like that in today’s world. Unless a physical threat is imminent, it’s best to blow it off and walk away. Petty crap like that isn’t worth it.

You sound like a pussy. If it matters to you, speak up. Otherwise don’t complain.

It’s not worth it for 2 reasons I can think of off the top of my head.
Lots of crazy people loose. No more asylums
Lots of criminals with nothing to lose loose. No more harsh criminal penalties

Not to trying to be the conspiracy theory guy, but it almost seems to be part of a bigger plan. The movie Idiocracy comes to mind.

We do not.

Hate to be the one to get shite on for this, but a lot of these issues would go away if we just removed civilian cars from the equation entirely.

Almost got run over by a Charger at Costco. I was in a marked crosswalk.

This feckless bullshite is exactly why I honk, all the fricking time. Because all of the losers between me and the car at the front of the stop light that turned green three seconds ago don't honk, but said a-hole still hasn't taken his/her foot off the brake.
Shame had a place in society, and it's time to bring it back.

Call it out.
Do not accept criminality.
We don't have to live this way.

Go somewhere out of the US for an extended period of time and then come report back to us about not having a society.

Society-
The totality of people regarded as forming a community of interdependent individuals.
"working for the benefit of society."
A group of people broadly distinguished from other groups by mutual interests, participation in characteristic relationships, shared institutions, and a common culture.
"rural society; literary society."
The second definition is supposed to be a subset of the first. We’ve completely lost sight of the first definition. In many cases, this is retrievable. But in many, it’s not.
To answer your question more directly, American society is a Christian society that tolerates competing ideologies to fault.
If you throw away the tools and materials you used to build the house, you lose the ability to maintain it. But, in our case, we have also invited a ton of squatters into the house- many of whom are unironically “anti-house” and are laughing in our faces as they tear the house up while we argue about who lost the hammer. Good times.

When I see the amount of third world shithole people we willingly import and allow to continue to stay here, I say hardly.

I didn’t take it that way. More that a decline is noticeable. I’m not speaking for him- just giving my opinion on the topic

People mostly suck now.

I don’t let anyone walk all over me and yet I’m not gonna honk my horn just for some lunatic to get out of their vehicle and start shooting me up. Don’t let stupid pride cost you your life. You gotta be smart sometimes.

It’s slipping a lot because of entitled narcissist fricks, white, black, brown, and all other colors and labels. Especially white rednecks, blacks and leftist letter people fricks.
