Police aren't mean to white folks? Who knew?

I have a friend who got out in the hospital by a couple cops because he ran his mouth in the holding cell. Beat his arse while he was handcuffed to the bench. His dad was the CEO of a local hospital at the time and his mom was a teacher. The literal definition of privelege and they beat him to a pulp while he was handcuffed to a bench that was bolted to concrete.

GTFOH with this privelege talk.

I can’t believe 4 years later we’re still having this discussion.

Kneeling before, after or during does not bother me one bit. Muh sacrifices, muh disrespect, muh whateverthefrick...it’s a form of protest and protesting is as American as Apple pie. Most military personnel have zero problems with it.

I care. frick that shite. Sports are a chance to actually slink away from the pressures of everyday life. Having somebody like LeBron James tell me how bad he has it isn't something I'm interested in hearing.

Until politics manages to get it's head out of sports' arse, I'll find something else to do.

I'd argue otherwise.

If you haven't noticed, the country is divided to the point that it's in serious peril.

I'm pretty sure most give a shite, whether it be that they are kneeling or standing.

We’ve reached that point..the pandemic has proven to people they don’t NEED sports.

I watch sports to get away from politics and other world problems, so if they start talking politic I'll find something else to do with my time.

I enjoyed spending all day Sunday with my family a lot more than watching football.

Lmao. People protesting has nothing to do with major entities, corporations, sports leagues etc openly advocating and endorsing a political ideology. That’s a far cry from groups of people gathering in a public place to decry some perceived injustice.

I don't.

If I was offended, I would just wait to turn the game on until it's already started and the anthem is long over.

What has kneeling solved since dumb dick started doing it? Nothing, it has solved nothing. It has/will not solve a damn thing.

These athletes think what they do will solve the worlds problems. Newsflash bud, you get paid to entertain me.

Why do they only kneel during the anthem? Why not before the first pitch or right before kickoff? How many more people are paying attention at those times compared to the anthem if watching on TV?

Nail on the head. For something that “isn’t about the anthem or flag” they sure have very specific timing for their protests/statements.

I agree with you. A demonstration before the national anthem shows no disrespect, and I have no problem with it. Like you, I think BLM is a bunch of bullshite. There are only two racial/ethnic groups I know of who have ever depended on sacrifices by others to achieve a decent standard of living - African-Americans and Palestinians. And it's no coincidence that each group is a political football. It's their usefulness as a voting block that keeps the problems of African-Americans from being solved. Like any other group, African-Americans require two, and only two, things to prosper: freedom and the rule of law. They have the freedom but not the rule of law.

To fix this we need to end the drug war culture. That means either legalizing drugs or beginning to punish the users like we currently punish the dealers. We'll never do the latter, so that leaves legalization. This would end the incentive to deal drugs, and it would end the violent culture.
