Do " high energy" radio ads turn you away from business?

Am I the only one who gets completely annoyed by the screaming car/furniture salesman who thinks they have to scream their entire advertisement to seem enthusiastic?

I have in the past purposely avoided businesses who do this. It's almost as bad as the " if my dad says it, you can believe it" ads. Not sure where the concept ever came from.

A little bit. Also, overly helpful customer service will drive me out of a store. Just let me take my time and look at things. I'll ask if I have a question.

I don't even like tv and radio that airs more than a couple of adds per hour.

The one that really bugs the shite out of me is Kris Perret's commercial on 104.5/104.9 where he makes dumb analogies about court room and playing football so he can tell everyone he played football for LSU.

Yes.

At first I thought the selfie station commercial was a joke. Who is going to fall for that business proposition?

Office Depot (I think, might have been Max) was bad about this a couple year ago. I was going in there a couple times a week and they would approach pretty quick. "HELLO SIR NEED ANYTHING?" Nope, I'm good. Normally that wouldn't bother me but then they hit the radio and would describe you. "Yeah mid-20s guy in green polo style shirt in pens is alright. Said he'll contact someone if he needs anything."

I get what they were trying to do and I can appreciate that. Never hurts to err on the side of caution...but damn they went overkill.

"Diaaaaaaamond Mazda, you know! "...

Phuck those guys. They are almost as bad as the Ramsey jewelers in the New Orleans area.

I don't really care to have some joker yelling at me. I can't say that it would be the sole reason to avoid their business, however. Usually these guys are hawking wares that people don't need day-to-day, and can be expensive. If I can cut a good deal at a business, I'll give them my cash even if their marketing strategy is some doofus flinging their arms around and yelling.

I remember, when I took a course in television and film production, we went through a part about advertising. The instructor said something along the lines of "they act like morons because it will help you remember them." That's the whole point. When shopping for something like a car, Joe Sixpack will remember Dopey McDoofus on television, and go to that establishment.

I'm a low-energy kind of guy, so no, you aren't the only one.

I avoid them.
