I was always of the mindset that we needed to get rid of daylight saving time, but it’s simply too dark in the mornings. It’s 7 AM and it’s darker outside than when I went to sleep. I think I’m jumping back on the daylight saving time train.

We are still on DST. It will be brighter in the morning next week.

Exactly. 4:30 sunsets are depressing.

Our local golf course has twilight rates starting at 5:00 pm, in the summer we can usually get 9 holes in for $11.00.

Now what the frick are we supposed to do when it gets dark at 5:30 pm ?

Georgia is going to solve this problem for ourselves.

If Congress doesnt make daylight savings permanent, state legislature can change to central time zone.

Then we can be like Arizona and Hawaii and not have to change midyear and keep our late sunsets

The older I get the more even I am on it all. It sucks driving home when it's dark, but unless you're an adult slob that sleeps until 8 AM, the morning sun is ideal - it actually has more benefits getting outside in the light in the morning than the evening. Like I said, I can go either way on it.

Thanks for explaining this to someone who clearly already understood. Your redundant contribution has been sarcastically helpful.

Eta. - I misread the post and gave OP too much credit. I'll take my lumps.

In a rational world, businesses would adjust their times based on the seasons instead of needing our clocks to be arbitrary.

Daylight Saving Time. No "s" on the end.

I don't care which one we pick but we need to pick one and stay with it.

In polls, it's clear Americans want the clock changing to completely stop. Trump is pressuring congress to get it done. But luckily we have GOP Senator Tom Cotton to come frick that up for us.

My preference would be to stay in Daylight Saving Time, but as I get older, the time change fricks with me more and more. So I'm with you. Just stop making us change the clocks. Though I do believe taking a time of year where it already gets dark early and making it get dark even earlier is dumb.

This isn’t reflective of reality. While the majority of Americans want to get rid of switching the clock, they disagree heavily on which direction we should go. And while I can’t find any polling on it, I imagine that there is a significant percentage of the population that would rather things stay how they are than to have their non-preferred option become permanent. I know I fall into that category.

Jumping back on DST train, and you think it's bad that it's dark at 7AM ? Permanent DST and it will be dark until 815 AM. DST sucks !
