Lane Kiffin Explains His Support For A 24-Team College Football Playoff

During an appearance on the Brandon Walker College Football Show, LSU coach Lane Kiffin explained his support for expanding the College Football Playoff to 24 teams.
Kiffin argued that differences between conferences make it difficult to judge teams by their records alone.
“You know, the four conferences are so different- they’re different stadiums, they’re different environments, they’re different middle to bottom. And so you’re not playing equal schedules. They’re not even close.
“If you took an SEC team and gave them one of those other conferences’ schedules, you know, they’d average two more wins. Well, that’s a big deal."
Kiffin believes college football should take a similar approach to basketball, where strength of schedule and quality wins can outweigh a team’s loss total when determining postseason seeding.
“You had to go to more teams because the system’s broken in how they pick them,” Kiffin said. “And nothing against the committee.”
“It’s not just the wins and losses. How do you win them? How do you lose them? Where did you play? Did you play on the road?”
