Guy is an actor and he wants to talk about “working hard”. Give me a break, I am sure it’s a job at times, but being an actor falls near the bottom of the working hard list in my opinion.

How old are his kids? Teenagers, got it. Elementary school? Dick

I would find it an honor to transfer any kind of wealth to my children that I can. If I can at a minimum help them avoid bullshite lectures and political statements from corporations they may end up having to work for then I have succeeded. They will not be beholden to banks as well. They can create their own businesses and their own destiny with what I leave for them is my hope. Are there downsides, sure but the benefits of wealth transfer outweigh those greatly. You have to still teach children the benefits of hard work and a work ethic and that should go without saying. And if you do have a child that has grown into a shitty adult then take care of that situation in your last will and testament. And do I believe Craig’s statement, no I don’t. Just makes for good press for him.

Daniel acts as if he really earned it...he is an actor. Outside of the last hundred years, he would be a court jester. If he really cared, he would be giving away his movie money as soon as it his account. Turd.

I've told them I don't want anything of significant value from them. Don't expect it. Not my money.

I used to to tell my parents to spend it all. Dad stopped one evening a few years back to "discuss the inheritance" and I told him to be sure his last check bounces, the money is theirs, spend it. He said, "Son, we can't".

Guess he was happy dying a few years before Slow Joe The Dim Witted became *POTUS as inflation and the new taxes will eat up inheritances. Although in my case (medical issues) Mom is now likely to outlive me anyway. I tease her about spending my sisters inheritance.

I’ll never understand this attitude.

Will my kids get what my wife and I have accumulated through hard work and good decisions? Hell yes.

Am I not playing golf today, or not buying my wife a new SUV so they can have a little more? Nope, I’m going to live the way I want till I croak.

My kids took out student loans for their last year of college do they’d have an incentive to get to work after, I paid for the rest because I didn’t want them to start their careers burdened with a lot of debt. They’re working with good jobs in the degrees they graduated with and I’m tremendously proud of them. So they’re going to get what I have, and I hope they’ll continue to make good decisions with it.

I agree wholeheartedly. Kids need to know first hand how it feels to not have anything or they can never appreciate having plenty.

Oh good, more fortune cookie philosophy. You know what’s more pitiful than a rich guys kids? The broke- dick wage earner repeating platitudes he read off the side of a coffee mug.

Generational wealth is one of the greatest attributes of capitalism and has helped to create and sustain vibrant economies for decades.
If the kids are lazy shitheads or wreckless spenders, that’s on them (and possibly their parents). But leaving your children financially secured (to the best of your ability) should be one of the goals when having them.

Why would you give your wealth to anyone but your offspring?

Because I don't want to make my offspring miserable. I know about 20 wealthy families that have passed down generational wealth. I can only think of three of them that don't have miserable lives.

This includes several suicides of people who were fantastically wealthy but did not earn a dime.

I wonder if he takes care of his parents? Medical bills and housing. Or they stuck in a cheap home somewhere because they didn’t work as hard as him.

Wonderful. While here I am working almost exclusively to save a shitload of money in retirement accounts and other investments for almost no other purpose but to ensure my kids and/or wife wont struggle. To each his own, I guess.

I dunno. A lot of these actors are really good at acting and nothing else. They are terrible at investing/spending and their playboy kids will be much worse. For every guy like Jay Z or Frank Sinatra that could put that money to work and make it come out 10x, you have morons like Vince Young and MC Hammer that blow it all.

Then you have their mouth-breathing kids like the Kardashians etc...

We're projecting the intelligence of an OT Baller to a meat head who looks good on camera. OT Baller junior can probably keep it together with $50m, but I don't trust actor kids.

Why not have the will state they don't get it till they are about 35?

Here’s a novel idea. Be a good parent and teach your kid to value the right things in life and they won’t end up spoiled arseholes.

While i agree with this, that does nothing to address the demotivation of financial security. Of course, not everyone is like this, but kids that know they have nothing to worry about after high school, because they have their parents wealth to fall back on, often don't have the drive to succeed. Now what Craig did, is simple virtue signaling. However, Ramsay appears to have his head on straight.

I've heard of very wealthy people, usually a grandfather, that had inheritance clauses. That the grandkid couldn't touch the money set aside in a trust until they were 35. And, if that person ever touched drugs, then the trust was dissolved.

My kids will inherit everything when my wife and I are gone, but we have always been crystal clear that they have to make their own way in this world until then. I own a business that I’ve not allowed any of my kids to be a part of. Why? Because I intend to sell it at some point when it’s absolutely the best time FOR ME to sell. I’ve seen too many times what a disaster it is when kids come into a family-owned business. Not repeating that cycle.
