That's Dallas PD for you. Understaffed and underpaid, they take pretty much anyone these days.

And why would any good cop want to work for Dallas PD with the total joke of a city government that runs Dallas?

I worked 24 hrs straight Sunday and do it often. No rational reason for her to have shot the man . Shut the door , call for backup. Figure it out .

PENAL CODE

TITLE 5. OFFENSES AGAINST THE PERSON

CHAPTER 19. CRIMINAL HOMICIDE

Sec. 19.02. MURDER. (a) In this section:

(1) "Adequate cause" means cause that would commonly produce a degree of anger, rage, resentment, or terror in a person of ordinary temper, sufficient to render the mind incapable of cool reflection.

(2) "Sudden passion" means passion directly caused by and arising out of provocation by the individual killed or another acting with the person killed which passion arises at the time of the offense and is not solely the result of former provocation.

(b) A person commits an offense if he:

(1) intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an individual;

(2) intends to cause serious bodily injury and commits an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual; or

(3) commits or attempts to commit a felony, other than manslaughter, and in the course of and in furtherance of the commission or attempt, or in immediate flight from the commission or attempt, he commits or attempts to commit an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual.

(c) Except as provided by Subsection (d), an offense under this section is a felony of the first degree.

(d) At the punishment stage of a trial, the defendant may raise the issue as to whether he caused the death under the immediate influence of sudden passion arising from an adequate cause. If the defendant proves the issue in the affirmative by a preponderance of the evidence, the offense is a felony of the second degree.

Just saying...the jury's verdict seems appropriate when reading the law.

I can't imagine prison is going to be a pleasant experience for a white cop that killed an unarmed black man.

She will likely be segregated from the general population. In Louisiana, convicted police officers are placed in the protective custody unit at David Wade Correctional Center while serving their sentence.

I’m trying to wrap my head around just how this is LEGALLY murder

Relevant TX penal code language for murder:

(b) A person commits an offense if he:

(1) intentionally or knowingly causes the death of an individual;

(2) intends to cause serious bodily injury and commits an act clearly dangerous to human life that causes the death of an individual;

Her actions clearly fit the statute. Failing any defense to shooting him such as defense of self or others her actions meet the criteria for murder in TX.

remember, she's isn't some civilian who might panic and not know what to do in this situation.

While very true and I agree with your stance, it still does not eliminate the possibility.

That's all that's left in Dallas now. Race baiters, race hustlers, WOKE SJWs and criminals. All the good citizens left for the suburbs.

I live in Dallas proper and I’m literally the exact opposite.

I also agree with your response to my other post. I don’t think murder will stick on appeal, I’m just glad she didn’t walk. She put herself in this position. She can deal with the consequences.

I haven't made excuses for anything. You need to go get some air and take a break because you're putting words in the mouths of multiple posters in this thread.

Then you would know more than anyone that South Dallas and Oak Lawn run the city.

You certainly can't be happy with the trajectory the city is on.

Edit: Probably downvoted by people who think John Wiley Price and Eddie Bernice Johnson are good leaders.

Just spitballing here, but why does race even have to come in to play here? Did she shoot him BECAUSE he was black? Did she set out that day to find an innocent black man and kill him?

What she did was horribly irresponsible and wreckless and stupid, but I don’t see why it has to be repeatedly mentioned that the victim was black. That has NOTHING to do with her motive

And did the judge allow the castle doctrine for mistake of fact since she's black? It's sad this is what some people only care about. Some shitty pathetic people in society.
