So if the donors think her comp is fair why is it anybody else's concern?

Comparing her salary, which is privately funded, to elected/appointed government officials who are paid by taxpayers having their money taken from them is silly.

What law enforcement authority does Crimestoppers have?

She's the linchpin behind this uptick in NO crime of course. A "Moriartyesqe" shotcaller if you will. Frickin brilliant! More crime = more reward = more donations = more incentives = more goal attainment payday.

Brilliant!

I don't know about New Orleans, but Crimestoppers is a pretty big deal, high profile organization in most cities and the name carries a lot of credibility. Not sure why you can't understand how the public might be curious about how a multi-million dollar local charity spends its money.

Houston Crimestoppers puts all of their financials and 990 form on their website. Credibility and transparency are important for their public fundraising and overall mission. This should be obvious to you.

This is New Orleans. Be surprised crime stoppers there isn't comprised of directors from each ward making that plus a president over them making double, and all of them given cars with the hidden flashing lights and sirens.

Non story. I would have loved to have seen the justification for paying Andy Kopplin, Mitch's mastermind behind the destruction of NOPD, $180k (plus overtime he made during storms.)

Mike Glasser on the police side just came out in support of her heavily. Of course that was paired with saying all the local public officials she's compared to deserve large raises, instead of her needing a pay decrease though so who knows how genuine he was

By the way, make no mistake, this is a Landrieu hit piece. Last month, he was asking that Crimestoppers give the City money to hire homicide detectives, instead of using the tip program here, because "it wasn't working." Crimestoppers was able to tell that the issue was NOPD homicide detectives weren't actually logging into look at the tips that had been received on numerous cases (they keep a database), so the information was sitting there going unused.

When he started suggesting the City could better spend their resources, everyone knew something along the lines of this would show up.

Lee Zurich pissed because she makes way more money than he does. I see he didn't do this investigative report, he threw Meg Gato out there for this one in case it pisses off the wrong person.

Lee will be a NOLA crime statistic sooner or later.

This.

This isn't a govt agency. It doesn't matter how much they pay their employees, it is a non-profit. Want to be pissed? Go look at Wounded Warriors and what they spend that money on.

How about we take care of the crime first - then scrutinize the rest. Let us get our house in order...

Who cares. This is ridiculous. It's not like she is making a ton of money. I mean It's a non profit and not tax payer money. There are probably at least 1000 other non profit employees in the city that make a lot more money than her.

Maybe. Maybe not.

But, let's be honest. She is in charge of an anonymous tip line.

I took it out .. my point is that your supposed to make more money in the private sector than you do as a public servant.

Again it's not like she is making a lot of money and getting rich of the gig. And even if she were, who cares. It's a nonprofit.
