Should’ve made that hair cut appointment earlier in the week, not fight the Friday crowd trying to get it tight for the weekend.

re: Prayers needed

Prayers for your mom, I know that’s hard. It’s amazing how many people suffered with lingering conditions or complications from Katrina. Had a friend who came down with a respiratory infection that fall due to all of the debris related allergens and later passed a few years later from complications.
I remember a friend's family had a Ford conversion van with a TV, VCR, Atari, and refrigerator. It was the favorite ride for any event. Of course kids didn't wear seat belts back then, and we'd all pile around the back like we were in the corner of a lounge.
Simply stop going to the restaurant and tell them why. They are allowing this, don’t support it.

Kip was always approachable and easy to engage in conversation. He had a genuine love for the city and its people. You never knew when he might show up to some event - and would often stay until the end. Baton Rouge felt unified under his leadership, which is quite an accomplishment in this day and age.
10 PM start with $5 beer. It would be legend.

While I largely agree with this sentiment, I think what they're trying to do is intriguing. Knowing they have the wherewithal and ongoing relationships throughout industry, my guess is that those early students will be successfully placed into outstanding internships and/or graduate programs. It could be a unique opportunity, if done right, many schools can't match.
Nearly 3/4's of universities and colleges were on the semester system going back to the 1930's. Most still use the semester system - the quarter system was never widespread.

I remember Tic Tac Dough was popular at the time and we used to make jokes in class about the dragon when someone answered the teacher wrong.

Nothing like worthless game shows and soap operas.
I guess the dragon finally caught up to him

Cool so people are splitting these things up.

For ribeyes, strips, or a porterhouse, I get them cut thick and serve everyone portions. I'll even do a 3" porterhouse and serve on a platter at the table.

For filets, I like a 10-12 oz cut. We typically do them in a cast iron skillet with the butter finish to get the good crust on it. A small steak won't hold up well to that. Some of the family will share, but that's my favorite so I'll eat it myself.

That said, I've done thin, quick sear ribeyes on the blackstone with a lemon butter sauce and they were delicious. Whatever makes you happy, cooking should be fun.
Larger steaks cook better. By the time you get a nice crust on a thin steak it’s well done. I’d much share a thick steak than have a bad one.
Louisiana would’ve been legendary with I-69, though we’d probably need a toll just to pay for all of the stolen signs.

re: Baton Rouge local pharmacies

There are several great local drug stores here in town. People have mentioned quite a few. Bolton's, Red Stick, Prescriptions to Geaux, etc are all good. I know Red Stick will ship your medicine, which is helpful if its something you take regularly, not need immediately when sick.

The PBMs need to be blasted for trying to harm the independents. Unfortunately, PBMs can afford high paid lobbyists and work across state lines.
“Before you pay it’s going to ask you a question” is just a terrible phrase that needs to go away.

If this thread covers any singular piece of military equipment, hands down I’d vote for this one. It may not have had the greatest impact, but it certainly has played a role in conflicts and the impact of conflicts across the globe.
