Prayers for he and his family, I can't even imagine. I've heard him give a talk on this subject, so sorry to hear he will live this again.

When I was kid going to Bon Marche or Westmoreland, they had the Satellite plates. Fried cod, fries, and green beans, with chocolate pie for dessert was my usual favorite. Later on the roast beef was my regular. I miss the days when the line was out the door and everything was always fresh.
I seem to remember starting the night at Murphy’s with The Clash and Jagermeister, and don’t remember how the nights finished hahaha.

Christmas in July was wild, though.
There are a lot of tournaments across BR and opportunities to mix it up with teams not in the same league or frequent opponents. There are also tournaments in New Orleans teams can enter.
Even in today’s environment, calling out a coach in that manner on a political feed crosses a line into the bizarre and disturbed.

So now coaches are targets? They need help.

The “adults” ran the program and it sucked. Feels great to have the fun kid running it now

Agreed. Lane is standing on business and actually doing the adulting adults didn’t do. He isn’t sitting on the golf course like a retiree.

I was on a flight with 4 guys from Qutar this week.

Qatar is heavily involved in LNG. Maybe that was the connection.
Those are low scoring games, too. Sounds like they were early season slug fests when the kids are still getting things sorted out. Nothing like spending a weekend at a tournament during the holidays.

I never experienced it. I don’t know what it is. Is this a real attempt at rankings of 8th grade basketball teams in a certain area? If so, that’s pretty funny.

These teams and the games they share become legend over the years. Most of the kids end up at the same high school where intense rivalries eventually fade into the playful boasts and funny stories told amongst friends for decades to come. But bragging rights at a reunion, crawfish boil, or tailgate party years in the future don’t come without these well fought games. This thread captures all of it, and is followed closely each year. By the time the Catholic High tournament rolls around in late February, it will seem like advanced rounds in March Madness. Hats off to the OP who does this every year.

FWIW, those are good dogs. Know people who have gotten several from there over the years.

The chemical used to make aviation smoke, Systoval, is only made at a plant in Ukraine. The price was already through the roof before Russia invaded.

Not that I doubt you or trying to be annoying, but how did people obtain this before the Cold War was over in ‘91? Did we have a domestic supplier then? It seemed like sky writing was much more popular in the past when general aviation was not so expensive.

How does an automatic escalator work if two different coaches have that in their contracts?

Exponential raises.

I don't understand why anyone is listening to Finebald. Hes a skeleton version of Pennwise the clown.

Finebaum rode the wave with Saban at Alabama. He would never have his position today had he been a local guy with a different SEC school. His bias and poor logic have been shown time and again now that he can't simply cheer lead a single team and coach who consistently win.
You still had security checks, but a simple metal detector mainly looking for guns. You didn’t need a ticket to get access into the terminal by the gates. It’s how this worked if you see old movies or videos of people waiting for someone as the passengers get off the plane.
The card key works and no one scrambles back upstairs.

A genuinely nice individual who really led LSU the right way. He and his wife were always gracious and friendly, and did not engender the controversy so many modern university leaders now create.
Great picture. You can see how the LSU lakes were not made yet, still swamp. The College Town neighborhood appears to be recently laid out with some houses now built. Not much else yet in that part of Baton Rouge.

I’ve gotten most from Raymond Calandro over years just because it’s been tradition. He’s now on North Blvd.

Temu Fred Sanford?

Louisiana Nursery, Cleggs, and Calandro’s all have good trees, just depends on what you want and how close they are to you.
