re: Crimestoppers CEO makes more than NOPD chief, district attorney

Again it's not like she is making a lot of money and getting rich of the gig. And even if she were, who cares. It's a nonprofit.

Crime Stoppers is committing fraud by claiming to be non profit
Posted on 6/30/17 at 8:32 am to Placebeaux
What profits have they made?
Posted on 6/30/17 at 8:33 am to Placebeaux
Well if they are paying out big salaries then they are not avoiding taxes.
Posted on 6/30/17 at 8:33 am to tLSU
Major profits. Upwards of 3 million or more

If she actually did anything to help stop crime in New Orleans, I'd say pay her $250k/yr.
But, can anyone honestly say she's doing anything with her tip line to help stop crime?

Because she runs a tip line.
She does nothing
You aren't affected by her salary. Her tip line actually helps provide information to solve crime. Crime which is out of control.
Again, you should be more mad about the crime rate, and not how much a nonprofit pays an employee. You ARE affected by the lack of crime reduction efforts by city leaders because your tax money is going there.

I guess private citizens profiting from the exorbitant crime in New Orleans by accepting charitable donations isn't anything to be concerned with.
White collar crime doesn't hurt anyone. Good point.

Others, like Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans, are supported by a board of directors with a handful of paid employees carrying out the day-to-day work. We found that in Memphis, the director makes $78,000. In Detroit, $145,000 a year. In Kansas City, $113,602. And in Houston, the executive director makes $152,000 a year.
NOLA has more crime per capita than all of the above. Give her a raise!

Meg Gatto specifically asked what her bonus was based on, and she couldn't give an answer.
The board gave some BS statement about commitment.
She does next to nothing to help stop/prevent/deter crime in the N.O. Metro area, and people want to give her bonuses and a raise.
Of course, this is mostly coming from the same crowd that elected Mitch Landrieu. lol

Is it illegal to pay her more than she is worth? That is btw her and the people who pay her.
Props to her for negotiationing the salary. This is probably your first time understanding how non-profits work. If the public disagrees with how the nonprofit is run, the money will dry up.
Some non-profits do donate the majority of their donations towards their goals, Mercury One for instance, donates 100% of the donations. They stay in business by hosting a fundraiser once a yr to pay for their salaries, and they tell you that is what the fundraiser is for.
Others don't do this practice, but it is their discretion.

How much should a woman be paid to operate a tip hotline?
Oh, and then make a phone call to the chief and report what anonymous tips she's received.
Oh, and wait.....I'm sorry, write checks to people who provide info that lead to an arrest.
Like that ever happens. lol
What a scam. Raphael really did a bang up job getting his daughter this gig.

1. Have citizens donate to a crime tip hotline fund
2. Make the tips anonymous
3. Make sure the tips lead to an arrest
4. Draw a $200k/yr salary
5. Wear Hillary Clinton pant suits
6. ????
