Because if people are making charitable donations to Crimestoppers and a large percentage of that money is going to supporting Darlene, and all she does is run a tip line, there's an ethical problem here.

But it's New Orleans. I get it. Nobody cares.

Well, I mean.........I know that. You know.

Kind of ironic, IMO that this woman runs Crimestoppers, and has been running off with a salary and comp deal in excess of $200k.

Why are you mad about this, instead of the crime that is actually happening?

Again she does more than run a tip line and i am sure they're A LOT more non profit employees in this city making more money than her. I don't see an issue.

When pensions, insider investments and healthcare are considered: it pays more to be a public servant.

What would you like to pay her? She is probably one of the least compensated non profit ceo's in the city

Last month, he was asking that Crimestoppers give the City money to hire homicide detectives,

it's like you can't make this up.

I wonder how many homicide detectives ole Mitch could have hired with the $2 plus million he spent on removing a few statues

The issue you'll have here is simply envy. Anyone who sees an issue with a board of a private entity deciding to pay the woman who has managed the thing since its infancy a total comp of just over $200k is insane. I don't know her at all, but I know Crimestoppers does work in all the parishes surrounding New Orleans which have law enforcement agencies capable of utilizing the info.

The I don't want her to make more than me mentality is how you end up with an endless turnover of incompetent person after incompetent person running something....aka the superintendent position of the NOPD. But hey, we have a guy who was a Lieutenant promoted to Superintendent under Mitch and I'm sure he liked that big bump. Seems like he's doing an amazing job.

The only interesting thing here is how the article uses the salaries of the public officials, but the total compensation package of Cusanza. I wonder what Harrison's Expedition (soon to be one of the 300 new Tahoes they ordered) and $150k for the remainder of his life equals out to annually.

Charity nonprofits are a pretty corrupt bunch of nonsense in this county.

Yea, we should probably just kill this one off. Think we could get down to a 10% homicide clearance rate from the 18% we're at now?
