The swim is easy. A 110 mile bike would put the average Louisiana baw in the hospital… literally

None of them are easy if the participant isn’t conditioned for it. Walking for eight hours would be impossible for someone who never walks or runs. Swimming is a skill that you either have or don’t. I’ve always been a good swimmer, but there have been times I started up after laying off for many years. The first time or three are tough. Biking is similar, and as someone pointed out, there is no relief for the seat chafing if you’re not used to it. I bike, hike, run and swim regularly, so a three day window is a cinch.

I’ve ran several marathons and I couldn’t imagine running one after swimming and biking the equivalent.

Have a buddy that’s done 4. Can’t imagine the motivation one even has to do something like that.

With that said; if I had to and had 3 days I think I could pull it off. Swim one day, bike one day, and run/walking 26.2 miles in a day is doable. Seems like it would be a miserable experience.

Have a daughter (no pics) that could do it. She’s training for some kinda team challenge, Hydrox I think they call it. She won her age group in Houston at one event.

I have a 64 year old wife who could do it. She was a state champion swimmer in high school, and she swims regularly. Pretty freestyle form! She’d walk the marathon in about 9 hours. A few years ago we did a 9 hour 15 mile hike with 5300 feet vertical, and we hike all spring, summer and fall. She’d be slow on the bike, but she mountain bikes regularly, and she’s mentally tough. I have no doubt she’d make it in three days.

When I was 31, I did finish an Ironman in 11+ hours. The last 10-12 miles were the hardest thing that I have ever done.

Absolutely zero chance. I would drown in the water due to exhaustion.

FIFY

I could do it in three days, possibly two.

No BJJ is required.

I did a sprint tri a few years ago and out of the blue had a panic attack in the open water of a lake.
I've run halfs, full marathons, and swam plenty of times, biked, too.
This was a relative easy peasy triathlon. I think it was like 400 yards of swimming, 14 miles of biking, and 5k of running.
I had trained for the swimming in a rec center pool. So the 400 yards was going to be no physical issue. Then about halfway through the swim portion, the water overwhelmed me, and thankfully they had volunteers on canoes or I would have potentially drowned.
Still to this day I have no idea what happened to me other than maybe it's related to the fact I'm fairly claustrophobic.
