tOT baws, you have any great WebEx / Conference Call stories?

I was on a conference call with a new headset when I got the urge to piss. Got up, walked to the bathroom, and tried to piss on the porcelain rather than in the water so as to keep the sound to a minimum. I had my off hand on the headset microphone, or so I believed. Walked back to my office and sat down as the host randomly called on someone for comment. The first thing the guy says is "I just want to make it clear that I'm not the person who just took a piss on this call."

After talking to a few guys on the call I found out the entire thing could be heard plain as day. Apparently I should have read the instructions on how to mute the headset.

THAT is my biggest fear of chatting/OTing when on one of these. Double check that 'presenter' status.

We get IT nerds to come set up our conference call tech. I just click on a button.

We did have one lady who was taking the call from her house start streaming video from her laptop camera and she was in a nighty. Old and gross looking and not the person you want to see in a nighty.

Someone shut down the meeting to save her and texted her to cover the camera.

Had one start at 10am, about 25 minutes ago. In that time, I've checked all of my email accounts, made coffee, and checked all the new postings on TD. So I would say this webinar has been time well spent.

I was on a training call with dozens of people, and some baw put the call on hold. Elevator music begins to play over the phone, interrupting the trainer. She tries to talk over the music for a few minutes, gets pissed and ends the call twenty minutes early.

Yes and how does that still resolve as Tech in your brain?

Tech can be Power Systems, Telecom, Semi-Conductor, AI, etc.

At my previous employer we had monthly financial reviews for each business unit. I was the rep for my office, and one month we had recently installed some new AV equipment in our conference room. During the call, while our CEO was babbling on about some nonsense, I remarked to the BU manager sitting next to me that "it (the new equipment) sounds like shite"...of course we hadn't worked out the mute function yet

This was followed by a long silent pause on the phone, then the CEO just kept going

My fricking dogs get me busted all the time (that I am at home and not in the office). Not that it really matters.

The worst part about conference calls is people trying to talk over each other. Or when 3 people try to start talking at once.. then pause and wait for someone else to start.. but no one starts.. cringeworthy

Being able to pull them off from the golf course was not unusual back in the corporate days.

I quit reading there.

I typically call in, let them know I'm on the line, hit the mute button for my mike and commence to do other, more worthwhile work. If they need my input, I just wait for them to call my name a few times.

I keep electric tape over my camera.

And my dog will sleep all fricking day, until it's my 2 minutes to talk and she goes berserk.
