Go to BamaHenge. It’s a replica of Stonehenge. There is a gift shop with about 20 restored old outboards. They look brand new, and they work. Owned by a guy whose family owns a dairy/milk company.

Joey Ks is solid on Magazine Street. Locals and tourists, but good New Orleans vibe.

Milan Lounge Closing?

Posted by HECM62 on 3/30/25 at 5:35 pm
Friend just texted me that he went to the Milan for a beer and was told they lost the lease. Hope he was mistaken, they have been there a long time. Used to go watch the Cubs in the afternoon after class.
I think Spahr’s is better and the drives not bad.
I never had fresh broccoli until I was at a friends house in high school. We always had the frozen bricks of vegetables.
In the same vein, I always ask for French Fries with no salt. They have to make them fresh.

Will this work for speckled trout? Thinking about taking some out of the freezer for the LSU game. My wife likes more batter, this seems like a good solution

Went to Frey for lunch Saturday, was pleasantly surprised.

Grand Isle road flooding

Posted by HECM62 on 6/19/24 at 10:54 am
Just saw a video of Hwy 1 near Bridgeside. Looks like a foot deep. The pavilion at Bridgeside is knee deep. Any reports on getting to the island? Supposed to head down tomorrow for the Creole Classic, but I don’t think my small truck can handle the water I’m seeing.

They will give you a rain check if they are out. Had the issue a couple of weeks ago with pork chops, and no issues using the rain check the next week.
I swam for the Tulane club team in the 70s. Coach Bowers would hit kids with kick boards who were playing around. He was a total jerk, but made me a great swimmer. Multiple state championships, college scholarship, and shot at the Olympics in 84. Hard sport on the body, but got a bunch of poon from the visiting teams

Fished by the first culvert in Hopedale as soon as you make the right turn off the bridge. Caught 4 keeper trout, and 2 18 inch Drum. Just be prepared for lots of snags if you fish the bottom.
I would think that herbivore would taste better than meat eaters.
Graduated High School in May 1980. You are right, great time. Would go back in a heartbeat.
AT IIs was my first bartending job in 1981. A bbq burger, side of cheese fries and a Barq’s was my lunch. They grilled the patty, then soaked them in the bbq sauce, then quickly cooked on the grill before putting on the bun.
Yep. We call it Popeye roulette, never know what you are going to get.

Tipton County was pretty good at the time. George the owner owned ATT 2 for a while. Good guy.

The family is running Mrs. Shirley on Magazine Street near Washington Avenue. Went last week, fantastic.
Never been to a game in Tiger Stadium. It’s on my bucket list.
