Back in the 80s, My dad used to send me across a busy highway to get gas for the weed eater when I was under ten. I never thought twice about it until was older and realized how stupid it was. I’m still alive though.

We lived in an old house uptown Nola for a while. Lots of weird stuff but the two that stick out was the Dustbuster used to rev up by itself. I’d switch outlets for the charger, but it still did it. We moved and it never did it again. The other was my 4 year old used to complain that someone was tugging on her clothes but when she turned around no one was there.

We stayed at The Allison outside Newburg- I highly recommend it. We hired a driver to take us to off the beaten path places and it was fantastic.

I know a younger guy who worked out with Favre when he working on an NFL return. At the time, this kid was playing mid level college football- WR. He said the first set of passes were hard but not crazy, then Favre said I’m gonna put a little extra on the next ones. He told me you could hear the ball whistle and the first one smacked him in the face.

Friend of mine was working for a mid level college and showed up to work taking official stats for a softball game. The AD called and said I need you to do the radio today, which he had never done in his life. He told me he just gave the count and score over and over.

I lived uptown next to a surgeon, law professor, etc. My kid and the other kids on the street still couldn’t go play outside and roam the block unsupervised. That ain’t living.

15 years ago I got a DUI and had to have a breathalyzer in my car. I could get 100% smashed the night before and blow OK into it the next morning. Ive probably got 100 lbs on this wiry woman, but she was hammered.
