Not keeping a guy who didn't blitz once for the first 8 weeks of the season?

Once he was allowed to actually run the defense the way he wanted, it was a totally different defense.

Will Muschamp, no explanation needed

He recently retired
This is a really good hire for Penn St. Never thought he would actually leave Iowa State.

They just don't want a team from Louisiana to be dominate, especially against the golden team, Alabama.

I really hope you dont believe what you just wrote

2 questions

1) Why exactly is the RB Coach with the NOLA connections crucial to the OL/DL from Erwinville committing?
2) Assuming #1 is correct, how has LSU allowed one if it's assistant coaches to basically become a "handler" for multiple recruits and control the outcome?

As the recruiting coordinator, Frank has pretty much always handled the NOLA area plus any high profile recruits.

Must be a fan of the great Kevin O'Leary.

Sure some kids prob still care about whose coaching em but at the end of the day the question that’s most important to them is: How much can you pay me? You think kids are just bouncing around from team to team every year bc of the coaching? No. It’s bc someone else is offering em more $. The higher ranked the recruit the greedier they are.

For the players that just look short term, sure, they just want the bag. But for the players that are thinking about maximizing their draft stock, they want to be coached by the best coach that can help them get to the next level (while also being paid).

People mention this as if it isnt true with the coaches. I face it every day in sales with people that are in buyers groups or have been loyal to certain salesmen over the years all over the state but the NO area is the toughest to crack when it comes to breaking through that wall.

I'd love one one reporter with balls to ask Frank Wilson if he ever used players while at O.P. Walker that never attended the school and had graduated 2 year prior from another near by school.

What good would that do? I have no clue if thats true or not but when he says no, you still wont believe him.

Most people take jobs after only talking to the hiring manager. Not exactly b or c level jobs, but most people don't need to talk to the kitchen manager to be able to wash dishes or work the fryer.

Im obviously not talking about entry level jobs.

Ive never once taken a new position without asking to be able to meet with my direct supervisor. Hiring manager is only 1st interview. Normally your direct manager will be present for the 2nd or 3rd interview.

With Frank, that’s only true for the running backs. And it’s pretty clear Frank is not the running backs coach.

Its true for the RB’s, OL’s, DL’s, WR’s. Defensive players have no clue if Blake Baker will be the DC either.

As Ive mentioned to others, its no different than us holding off on accepting a new job offer bc you dont have any clue who your boss will be.

Yea, Frank Wilson.......

Or, he wants to know who his DC and line coach will be.

Would you take a job somewhere without knowing who your boss would be?

Yup. The elite recruiter now is the check book.

While it certainly helps, this is definitely not true. Players still want to know who they will be coached by day after day and right now thats up in the air.

Would you ever take a new job if you had no clue who your direct supervisor will be? Of course you wouldnt.

Frank is overrated… not saying highly overrated but it’s not like he’s been some God gifted recruiter lately.

Besides… doesn’t NIL $$ change all that?

Money doesnt solve everything. Players still want to know who they will be coached by day after day.

Would you ever take a new job if you had no clue who your direct supervisor will be?

Sounds like something a certain segment of our population (example: those with a ton of piercings and rainbow colored hair) does when they want to act offended about something someone said or supports.

Great, now we’ll have the 2026 version of “3 for 3”.

Frank would be Curtis Johnson

If only Frank could coach RB’s as good as Johnson coaches receivers.

Utah?

Utah was in the Mountain West when Urban left to go to Florida.
There isnt a somewhat competent, let alone a really good coach, that will come to LSU without knowing who their boss is.
