Unless they are with a client about a potential proposition then they are useless. Any Intra-company conference calls are a huge waste of time (check the box) type of deal.

Had my head down in tps reports all day. Didn't have time for con calls. I'll jump on a few in Saturday and Sunday with my team.

I was on a conference call with a 100+ ppl. The lady running the call said she’d like to introduce everyone to some higher up person. As soon as she introduced him, someone who didn’t have their phone on mute said, “I hate that mfer”. When asked who said it she owned up to it rather than keeping quiet or hanging up. If she hadn’t been with the organization 15 years she would have been canned on the spot.

Since the company I work for has numerous sites on every continent on the planet except Antartica the calls are a necessary evil. Still hate them but understand the need.

ummm, yeah. i'm going to go ahead and disagree wholeheartedly. there are plenty of inter company conference calls that absolutely create value for the business. that may be true for sales, but not elsewhere hoss.

My best conference calls (not video) were when I would position myself across from a partially deaf co-worker who was an excellent lip reader.

I would mouth out the most smart a$$ things about the people on the other end of the call. It would always get a reaction from her as she was the only one who knew what I said.

Just keeping it real.

Work at home conference calls always equalled mute while doing housework for me. Unload dishwasher, prep dinner, dust, wash and fold laundry. I am a multitasker who only unmuted if asked a question.
