We've had some with low oxygen levels like in the 80s and upper 70s in one case. In that case the resident wouldn't leave his O2 in and was found eating the tips of the cannula. GROSS. He was a full code so he got shipped to the hospital -- they didn't want him coding at the home. Hear he's doing ok so far.

Before he died, my father in law had COPD. My wife had bought him a PulseOX because of it. After he passed, we reclaimed it. So glad we have the little bugger in our tool kit these days.

Just found out a HS friend's 16 y/o daughter is in the hospital with it. Healthy, no known conditions.

We haven't talked about the San Miguel County, Colorado results lately, and they just got back a massive bunch of blood tests. Recall that they are testing the entire county (population 8191) with a very accurate antibody test. They now have 4757 results, of which 26 are confirmed positive and another 72 are "borderline."

This is a rural Colorado county, where you wouldn't expect a high level of antibody, but it is interesting that the level there is 2% or less.

And since these tests typically test for LGG and LGM antibodies, I if would assume the 26 confirmed positive tested positive for both, while the 72 tested for one or the other. So if we assume the test that confirmed 26 were 100% correct, but the overall specificity is only 98.5% we would expect 71 false positives for the remaining 4731 samples, so only 1 of those borderline would be a true positive, so 27 total.

And if the sensitivity is around 90-95 percent then there might be 1-3 false negatives. So assuming that would mean roughly 30 positives out of 4,757 samples or 0.63%.

With 17 confirmed cases (about 0.21% of population), we’re looking at a prevalence that is about to three times the prevalence of confirmed tests out of the population.
