I never said I didn’t care. It aggravates me when fake shite like that gets passed around and 2 days later I have to explain to my wife why it’s bullshite. I said I’m not giving them attention. You know those are two different things right? Why are you trying to play some “gotcha” game with me?

The only reason I know anything about these Facebook warriors or “Karens” as you’re calling them, is because you are in here ranting about them.
That’s what I meant when I said maybe you should stop reacting to stupid people.
If talking about them unsolicited is not attention, then you’re right, I don’t know how your version of attention works.
But hey, you do you, man.

How exactly does this make sense?
Bc the facebook Karen’s and overreaction has crashed our economy and put 26m people out of work... Could have been mitigated and if people would have been rational, we wouldn’t be as fricked as we are.
Now I will say, not all of that is home grown, as it is now confirmed that China has been instituting a panic campaign here in the US using social media.

I don’t care or see how it’s relevant what your experience is. It’s a stupid image that I wanted scruffy to see because I thought he would get a kick out of it. I don’t have any other way to contact scruffy. I bet you get unsolicited information all the time. Every time you open a thread in fact, something could and will likely be new to you. Bringing attention to the image on a completely different forum doesn’t bring attention to the originator who craved it. Unless it’s your wife/sister/mom and you showed her my post. That would make sense.
As far as reacting to stupid people. What a stupid cliche. Letting people and images be stupid without being called such normalizes them. Others need to know as well. Letting bad data like this go around without rational people calling it bad is dangerous. Look what that kind of thinking just did to our economy ffs.

Didn’t even notice... May not have been Chicken though.

Yep, they are all gone. I guess a moderator decided they dont want people to know we are trending positive?

Chicken is part of the deep state globalists regime.

are you serious? The President and various state leaders are controlling the response. You sound way more dramatic than any Karen.

Fair enough, baw. Keep fighting the good fight.

New York antibody study estimates 13.9% of residents have had the coronavirus, Cuomo says
That was for the state. In NYC, that percentage was 21%.
And yes, it's unquestionably higher, because antibodies can take two weeks to develop, and a number of people in NYC have been infected in the last two weeks but haven't produced antibodies yet.
Let's be conservative, though, and say that it's 25% by the time that NYC reopens for business (as of now, that's May 15th).
One of the biggest problems with COVID-19 is that the native R0 of the virus might be almost 6, according to data from Wuhan. That means that an explosion of cases can happen quickly, if it's beneath the radar of health authorities, like just happened in Singapore, where they thought that they had COVID-19 under control.
In NYC, a study reported on in the NY Times today argues that NYC had over 10,000 people infected by the time of the first recorded positive test.
But if 25% of the population is immune, there's a much lower risk to society. For simplicity, let's assume that each person with the virus gives it to two people on the fourth day after exposure. The median date that people experience symptoms is day 5, so let's assume that everyone is a good citizen and stays home after they get a fever.
Let's imagine there's a wedding with a superspreader who gives the virus to 100 people. Twelve days after the event, when authorities figure out that there's a problem, you actually have 800 people infected (100 x 2 x 2 x 2).
But if 25% of the population has immunity, then the results look quite different: only 253 people have the virus (75 x 1.5 x 1.5 x 1.5).
This makes control of a 2nd wave much, much easier. It makes "test-and-trace" work much better.
And if NYC is at a much lower risk, then America is at a much lower risk, because NYC is still going to be a cramped city with lots of travelers where people use public transit.
This is one of several reasons that I do not worry very much about a 2nd wave. We are beating this virus, and we can control it.

Politicians and leaders reacted before any good data existed. It looked better for them to do way too much for fear of looking as though they were doing nothing. From March 12th to March 15th, mayors, businesses, states, and professional sports went on an arms race to see who could cancel more for longer. It was an escalation based solely on fear of public reaction (Karens) which were already at hysterical levels. Rather than be calm and lead, they melted before the hysteria. All of them. And with zero plans for return. The idea being they could figure all that out later and if it wasn’t so bad, continue to push that narrative anyway so as not to look like fools.
So here we are. There’s plenty of blame to go around.

The revisionist history coming in September and October is going to be a sight to see.

According to posters like lsunurse and shawnlsu, I should be strung up and dragged down the streets because I let my son play with a couple friends once every couple weeks. Because I’d be responsible if his grandparents died.
That’s the kind of hysteria we have been dealing with. People went fricking insane and still are.

I was in favor of shutting bars, restaurants, movie theaters, and salons. But shutting down parks and outdoor spaces was and is nuts.
And the risk of letting your kids play with a few select friends is far better than the damage to kids' mental health (and that of their parents) that happens when they are locked inside.
I said that on this board over a month ago. The therapists and psychiatrists are going to be overloaded for years from this.
