We already have that. I don’t mind it. We don’t have dogs. Keeps the uncivilized pet owners (not all of them are like this) responsible.

HOAs exist for one reason and one reason only; to protect property values. I'm not sure why wanting to live somewhere knowing that your neighbor's grass will be cut and they can't paint their house pink is a bad thing.
They aren't for everyone of course and I'm not advocating for them over not living in one, but they do serve a very valid purpose.

This has been a thing for a while. But it did kind of blow my mind the first time I heard about it.
They took samples of my nieces dog poop before she moved in. If they find poop and test it and it's your dog you get fined.
I hate HOA's, but i actually don't hate that. I dislike picking up my dogs poop and walking around with a poop bag for the rest of the walk but I do it because it's respectful. Kind of annoying to do that and then some 100LB German Shephard takes a dump in your front yard and the owner doesn't pick it up.

When I was looking for a home, I invariably found myself attracted to neighborhoods with very strong covenants enforced by a HOA. So I bought in just such a neighborhood.
You just have to read the covenants beforehand and if you don’t like them, don’t buy there.

I always clean up after my dog. I'm many things, but a bad neighbor isn't one of them.
A few weeks ago I was walking her, and she was sniffing around someone's lawn, and the homeowner came out and in a Russian accent yelled at me "NO POO POO! NO POO POO! BAD IDEA!"
I was like "calm down lady, she's just sniffing around, and if she poops I'll pick it up."
A few days later, she had ten of these signs all over her lawn
She also installed some sort of automatic ultra sonic animal repeller that goes off every time we walk by her house.
She really doesn't want dogs shitting on her lawn.
