Nachitoches is like a very mini version of New Orleans. It’s kind of a dump in most areas.

It is pretty shocking as an outsider how nice this town is to be what it is.

Savannah Savannah is like if Charleston and New Orleans had a kid.

Spot on. Been to both multiple times. And both are cleaner! A lot cleaner!

I visited New Orleans a year ago, mostly played golf, but did get to burboun st, stayed in a house a few minutes from downtown.6 minutes from Superdome. So my experience was Bayou Oaks, TPC, burboun st. And a few eating places near where I stayed. So very minimal knowledge.
Charleston is cleaner and smaller with a lot of beaches nearby, from Edisto (quiet beach) to Folly( more going on) and IOp…

Only been to Savannah a couple of times, remember the waterfront and the Bridge similar but smaller than the Ravenel bridge in Ctown.. I remember a cool little bar called Abe’s on Lincoln if I recall..
Would have liked to had a few more days to explore NO

Memphis is by far the closest city to New Orleans in every way.
For 2 blocks.

Mobile - poor man's NOLA

That's an uniformed take.

Mobile has a fair amount of issues but it's run by a Republican that is handling some of those issues versus NOLA and Latoya the idiot. If you spend any time in Mobile you'll realize they do not pretend to be NOLA.

Also Mobile has a real economy based on industry, not drunk tools on Bourbon.

Mobile however does not have the food scene and never will. I'm not talking about french quarter tourist stuff, I'm comparing residental every day spots. You'd never see a Casamentos, Pascal's, Brigtsens in Mobile.

If you are going to pick a Texas city that’s most like New Orleans - why not San Antonio?

They are about the same age and both have similar psyche - both along a river with a busy downtown area. They are both very culture forward - even though different cultures.

Plus ive known people murdered in both.
