To set the city back…or is it that she did nothing to revitalize the city and clean things up?

She told me that she was tough on crime…did she lie ?

She alienated the police force and made crime go way up.

She caused a significant portion of her tax base to form another city

Well, considering 5 of the 6 most violent years in the city's history occurred during her tenure I'd say we have some pretty decent data that she was not particularly tough on crime

She listened to John Bel Edwards and the circles of good o’ baws that he was connected to thinking he would help her political career.

Made it harder for police to do their jobs by not backing them.

Cut money from law enforcement to fund various development programs in NBR that haven't been effective.

The crime issue is part her and part due to the judges who give violent offenders bail and probation. Armed robbery with aggravated assault gets probation. Murder gets 10-20 years.

Her 1st 2 orders of business were to make a Malcolm X day in Baton Rouge and appoint Silky slim and Gary Chambers to her newly formed Law Enforcement Advisory Council.

She also appointed CAO (with an ear ring) who lied about his work history on his resume. The Advocate uncovered it.

Her administration failed to keep the Claycut Bayou drainage system clear leading directly to my home flooding in 2019.

Home is 50yrs old and wasn’t even threatened in 2016 but the years of neglect caused back flooding after a much smaller rain event.

She also is the reason Downtown BR was ruined and struggling to this day.

So the big concern from her administration, and the big hope for Coach’s administration, is to clean up crime?

She was awful. I guess we could give her some credit for the Amazon center. She at least didn't scare them away. The proliferation of down town condos and apartments is nice if anybody will actually occupy them and bring some life back down there. But visiting home I mainly have seen more junkie bums, more trash, and heard about the proliferation of crime. Schools are no better. Traffic is no better.

Broome was reluctant to help developers unless they were doing something in NBR.

Broome set BRPD back by undercutting the cops and not addressing the gang problems.

Broome didn’t address flooding and then got caught in a lie trying to tax the people for a solution while she sat on piles of money.

Broome used her power and influence to fund her private lawsuit against the SG organizers when she had no legal standing. She fought tooth and nail agsinst SG and a vote of its citizens.

She failed to complete Kip’s Greenlight Plan and her huge MovEBR plan is limping along. The synchronization part doesn’t seem to be making any difference.

Her very first move was her most costly. Ran on with the promise of having one criteria for next police commissioner….be black. Many actual respectable black officers didn’t want the job because of that…so in comes a retard with no shame, together he and broome formed the new mega powers tag team of incompetence.

Attempt to run a Capitol city based on identity politics. Shockingly, this did not work.

One of a mayors most important jobs is to set the tone of the city.. you do this through your public persona and words but most importantly with your chosen representatives in the office.. she has chosen poorly using demographic criteria as her choice the majority of the time over actual qualifications and results. She wasted millions on losing battles including but not limited to St. George.

She’s done for so I’m not going to spend time listing the litany of all her missteps and waste but there’s no doubt it was time for a new direction
