Interesting.....can't imagine it didn't factor into the final decision, but I don't know jack shite, except that it is just another hit for the area that is going to be suffering for some time. Is the shopping center that housed Big Heads and the Rite-Aid getting torn down?

won't ever stop in a Buc-ees again i can tell you this much.

I love wawa, best gas station ever. If you've never been to one you have to go the next time you're in the philly area or now florida

Ever wonder why the second you drive into Texas all the roads are better?
I'll be glad when they finish I-10 around Orange. Feels like they've been working on that forever.

I think it will be just an entire storage place.

I would pass like 3 on my morning commute when I lived in FL. I used to do some damage to those sizzli's in the mornings.

I don't understand what is the damn fanfare with this place. It's just a big arse gas station.
This.
And this again!
It reminds me of the hype that surrounded Cracker Barrel restaurants many years ago. Big hype over bland food.

Shocking that a well run business, that does great things, cant seem to get things straight with Louisiana Im sure Buc-ee's finally said frick it we're out.
They were properly permitted according to the article. Sounds like they're trying to slam Louisiana unnecessarily for their own decision to back out of the deal.
Unless they are concerned about additional taxation with the Edwards administration...

Which is a huge relief...I was hoping for more shitty buffet restaurants.

18 wheelers are not allowed there.
Obviously some people commenting here have never been to a Buc-ee's.

Would imagine it had to do with the massive flooding off of Millerville and the surrounding areas.
The Greens area didn't flood.
Maybe they think the economy (either nationally, or just the state) is too shitty to expand at this time?
Posted on 10/4/16 at 4:19 pm to LSUMJ
They are not going to say flooding but I'm sure it was a factor. You will have fewer people living in the area after the flood, family economics will be stressed after the flood, and you have a plaza being torn down after the flood and a walmart being built.

You gotta be shitting me. Although, that area seems like a great fit for a place like that.

FIFY - they missed a contribution somewhere along the line.
