Wouldn't be bad for hurricane evacuation to have 100 pumps.

Not to mention, Millerville is a less than desirable area of town.

I wouldn't remove all the blame from the Gladney's. I'm sure they did something behind the scenes to frick up this deal. They are generally a group of incompetent shitbags.

Are you Jim Tanner? I've known Windy Gladney for 40 years and I'd say he has done well with that site even with all the problems he has had. Not many people could hang on to it and eventually make it work. And he paid for the realignment of the interstate entrance which the state wanted but would not pay for so I'd say he did the neighborhood a favor.
They were going to build a new gas station, not a new refinery. Maybe Racetrac will come in now with all of their government subsidies and turn this project around.
To read all the conspiracy theories here regarding a gas station not being built is pretty funny and frankly tells me most here aren't on loan from NASA. Projects get planned and scraped on a daily basis for a hundred different reasons.

I didn't say there was a huge conspiracy. In fact I said just the opposite by saying your bff very easily could have shite the bed causing the deal to fall through.

Ever wonder why the second you drive into Texas all the roads are better?

Buc-ee's is nothing but an over sized trinket/junk store, huge store with pretty much nothing in it, and about a hundred gas pumps outside

Yeah, Shreveport is a real swampland.

Gas is typically about 10 cents a gallon cheaper
The Buccees in Texas City on the way to fishing and the one in Bastrop on the way to deer hunting have 99 cent 20 lb bags of ice
Their breakfast on fishing/hunting mornings is awesome.
I would think someone in every state would have a similar setup. Ole Buc-ee is from Lake Jackson and understands what a SE Texan needs in a one stop shop. Hell, you can buy a fishing rod at 5 am if your fricking friend's ice chest slid over yours on the way down.
