Well shite... we stop at them all the time living in Texas. As some have already mentioned they are a one stop for all your family's road needs. No more stopping multiple times, as the whole family WANTS to wait for Buc-ee's. Great service, great food / drink selection, impeccable restrooms, plenty of pumps, etc. Our family can't take a road trip without stopping.
We drive from Dallas to North Shore a few times a year and we were looking forward to this location.

Actually, he/she probably really likes Louisiana, the communities, food and culture, but is sick and tired of the politicians constantly screwing everything for their personal gain.

It is a fricking gas station. Multinational and mom and pops open them all the time. Nothing special regarding this. They pulled the plug. Move to Texas dumbass.

Would imagine it had to do with the massive flooding off of Millerville and the surrounding areas.
That property did not flood and they aren't exactly looking for neighborhood business.

This is correct Martini. The site did not flood and the flooding had nothing to do with their decision. They were looking at other sites in LA and they decided to drop their plans to expand into LA altogether.

I hadn't kept up too much with it, but figured this was more the case.

It's not a particularly high end development, but it is still a weird place for a massive gas station. It's not a real fit with the retailers there and it's on the upper left quadrant of the interchange. Usually the fuel stations prefer the upper right or lower left because of traffic patters and visibility.
It is an area with a redesigned exit on Interstate 12 which is one of the most heavily traveled East/West Interstates in the nation. How the frick is it a weird place?
They don't give a shite about the local people, the Golden Corral, RV Shop or Honda Dealership. All they care about is room, exit and car count.
Man some people here just aren't bright.
