I have two of the breeds mentioned above. But I work with them daily.
If you have to treat your dog like they are at an asylum for the criminally insane in the hopes they don't naturally attack another random being or animal, they aren't meant for human ownership.

I get it -- some breeds are certainly more capable of causing severe injury and/or death than other breeds, and a American Staffordshire Terrier is certainly one of those. Same can be said for many others, including a Doberman, German Shepherd, Belgium Malinois, Rottweiler, Cane Corso, etc.
Too many mouth breathers here to understand. Their brains scramble when you point out its the same as the liberal gun argument. They pretty much want to ban guns because of what stupid people do with guns.

My gun never went off without my express intent. Same can't be said of pibbles.

I take it you never owned a bulldog?
Once they lock down their jaw you can hit em with a baseball bat and they will not let go. Very good dog for home security.

Beautiful!
That is my eldest female hound rescue.
Such pretty paws and nails
Such pretty eyelashes
She must have grown up with cats because she has many cat traits like ignoring me about 23.50 hours in a 24.00 hour day. Then when she wants to be fed, she barks, gets in snuggle range, and gives me the look.

I could never trust one of these dogs. I’ve been to some matches and like watching game dogs do what they want to do but just having one as a pet? I would be sitting in the recliner every day looking down at the dog laying on the rug at my feet wondering if this is the day it’s gonna snap and attack me. Couldn’t enjoy owning a pet like that.

That ol boy was swinging that board like it was freaking mjolnir.

No, but I carry, and I'll shoot them.

Pit bull-type dogs (the category that includes AmStaffs) dominate fatal attacks by a huge margin — consistently around 65–68% of them over the last 15–20 years, with Rottweilers a distant second.
This the pattern my original comment described.
