Pitbull is an umbrella term used to cover all the bull terrier breeds, ie: The American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Staffordshire Bull Terrier, American Bully, etc.

I looked it up and saw that too… seems like AmStaff is more intentionally bred and not exactly the same as your junkyard pibble. But yeah, I admit to not knowing that until you pointed it out.

Cute girl you have, and the doggie in the back looks almost like a cartoon with those long legs and straight up tall ears.
Here's Sally.. she does not inspire much fear and ain't much of a guard dog.

That's a good looking Doberman. Curious - how do the 2 dogs get along? Do they ever exhibit any aggressive behavior towards each other?

Nope, Dobermans do not belong on your list. Wife and I have had 3 Dobes we got from Doberman rescue groups. My dad had a 92 lb Dobe he got from a breeder in TN and had it trained prior to having it transported to MS. He weighed 92 lbs and was lean and never had a problem and liked playing with our 1st Dobe. We haven't had any issues with Dobes at all other than most are lucky to reach 8 - 9 years. Had a Pointer/Pittie mix, she was awesome and sweet and had a great nose. Have a Pittie/whippet mix that is pushing 15 years and she can still compete in scent work trials. Some people shouldn't have dogs and their dogs end up in shelters and are frequently euthanized. That woman looks like a real winner.

I would guess chuahaha dogs. They are always #2 behind pits at the Humane Society and local rescues. Some are pretty sweet but some will bite the heck out of your hide.

One of my hound rescues must be related to Cowboy. Add in the inability to go outside if even a single raindrop hits his nose. As for flies, add in bugs in general. My 1 hound has inability to attack any bug but will bark at it at about 3am.

Yep, that Dobe looks about right. That guy with the 3 Dobe's on social media is funny. This is Lutie that we got from the Santa Fe shelter, I call him Biggie, goes to bed at 8 pm like clockwork, definitely not a guard dog.

The end with the big paws and nap time could be ny hounds doppleganger.
Big difference is Cowboy seems sensitive / empathetic. Hounds are just the opposite! Indifferent, hard headed, and could care less about pleasing people tho VERY smart.
Hounds are special creatures and not always good for kids or impatient people. They are adorable tho when pack hunting in the field, where you just see the tips of their tails above the grass and brush!

Good people own pit bulls and those pit bulls also kill people. They were bred to fight and kill. It’s as simple as that. Go to any dog pound and it’s 80-90% female pits. They keep the males to fight and either dump the females in a river or on the side of the road.
