See, people say this. But what exactly is the training of cops these days?

To give loud forceful commands and take action (lethal of need be) before they or bystanders are killed or seriously injured.

Where exactly do we go from here?

We dont run around threatening people with a gun and we dont hang around with the gun on us when the cops arrive and we dont ignore commands by the police while we decide what our next move is.

This shoot isnt a cop problem it's a bad guy problem.

It's actually the exact same angle. The camera is pinned to her chest.

I agree with you.

It’s definitely not as clear cut as other cases, but it’s still a justified shooting. The dead criminal had many opportunities during the day to not end up dead.

The cop made a judgement that she’ll have to live with the rest of her life. But to try to act like she did something “wrong” is laughable. frick criminals who put LEOs in the position in the first place

Curious to see how this plays out.

Next time, dont dick around and put the gun on ground and hands in the air. Can't fix stupid.
Otherwise, get shot. No problems with how the officers handled this.

These dipshits watch too many movies and think they can just do as they please and become some hero. DROP THE GUN. That’s do or die statement. Notice the person in the car complied after some shots were fired.

Several things that I took away from this incident were for 1 when he saw the cops pull up he should have dropped his weapon and placed his hands up, placed them on the vehicle or hell he could have even ran. The guy was approached by the cops and he continued to sit in a crouched position halfway concealing the firearm. He took much longer to drop the weapon than he should have after given commands.

When a person refuses to obey commands it's one of three things. 1. Impairment. 2. The person is not all there in the head or 3. The person has an ulterior motive. I personally believe it was number 1 or number 2 and if the cop would have slowed herself down she could have possibly walked away from this without killing this guy. It was his fault and I have to stand by the officer in this shooting and only because his quick movement was portrayed as a threat. In no way will she ever lose this in court but there were a few things that could have possibly been handled differently with some thought and patience. It's a very hard situation to be in when you are risking your own life. It's human nature to protect yourself.

Once he decided to put the gun down he did it very quickly and even though it seems like from watching the video his life could have possibly been spared you have to support the cop in this. The guy put himself in this situation. He had many ways out. I'll never ever put myself in a situation like that. But again nobody knew his mental state or what he was dealing with. Who knows. It's easy to Monday morning quarterback. Some of us would have definitely made the shot too.

World's a better place without this piece of zhit in it.

Every bad thing that happened to him was a direct result of his being a piece of garbage.

Since we aren't going to stop paying idiots to breed anytime soon, we'll have to go about it the slow way.

At least he can't father 10 illegitimate kids now...fk' him....

Not assuming anything,I watched the video several times. While it is true they told him “ 58” times to put it down,it is also true that it appears he was putting it down. My stand is that he was putting something down when he was shot. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t told. That may be too complex for you to understand. You sound like the people that hear someone say something true about our President and automatically holler “ but Obama, but Hillary “. Stay on point.

If I'm at gunpoint, I'm not moving and my hands would be way the frick up in the air.

Although he should have complied and put it down way earlier it does appear he is attempting to put the gun down. I think the cops were under a ton of stress but made the wrong call shooting him.

I'm pro cops 95% of the time I'd say but I agree that it seems as if he was putting it down and she blasted him at first movement. That being said he should have put it down the first time they told him to.

Yeah, this is tough. I supposed if he would have done it the first time, he might have lived. He did appear to be putting it down, but tensions are high and the cops wanted to go home.

Disagree.

There are bystanders close by and with the car door he can use the door frame and pillars as cover if he decides to shoot it out.

Forceful commands and take lethal action if you see any movement you perceive as a threat was the right tactic.

Morale of story, with no cliffs notes being needed:

"Drop the gun when told by police to drop it"

Very simple

How about this? Don't go to a private business waving a fricking gun around trying to start shite with people.

Can't believe people are sticking up for a dude that intended on using that gun on someone.

Jesus tap dancing Christ THIS.

You waltz into a BK and start waving a gun around, you deserve anything coming to you. Clearly you have no value for your life or that of others.

In no way does the cop possibly screwing up make him a victim.
