Just got power on Nicholson south of I-10 before downtown. By Tin roof. Looks like that whole area to campus got it back fully.
Although something tells me that won’t include many people in here.

We may have power back, the lock on my back door just sent an alert

Go ahead. It’s apparently on the 5th circle of hell’s power grid so I may burn it down anyway
Right there with ya. Going to run out of gas by midday tomorrow. Was really hoping not to have another 5am gas run but oh well.

Ugh, entire street has power but us and the neighbor. I just know we are now low priority, they are not sending anyone out anytime soon to turn on two houses.

Looks like we’re back up. My ring is up and sending me the live feed

Hope we’re next in line. Right down the street.

Power trucks been working this afternoon right behind Broadmoor High School. We have a few streets that now have their street lights on and some houses. I think we are seeing some progress.

There’s nothing better than sitting at home doing nothing staring straight ahead at the wall like David Puddy on your 5th day of no power and having all the lights and AC kick on.

What happened to Entergy giving estimates today ?
El will tell you it’s not needed because they don’t know.
Meanwhile, several TD individuals have figured out enough of what’s driving the issues to give decent information on what’s going on. And people have been hanging on every word.
It’s inexcusable how poor the communication has been. I got my power back yesterday. I’m no longer dealing with it but I’m still pissed at the lack of meaningful info.
I feel really sorry for those still waiting with no real info.

I’d be cool with a ballpark estimate then maybe later a more specific estimate. All I want is transparency. Let me know what you know.
1 lineman walked into my parents’ backyard today and gave them more info in 30 seconds than in 4 full days from Entergy.
I’d rather no info than the lip service they’re giving out.

Obviously the power companies know how the grid is set up.
They know what areas are out.
They know what major components of the grid aren’t functional.
If someone in Shenandoah is told that they are part of 10k homes fed by a major transmission line that is not functional, that’s meaningful.
If they are told that power won’t be back, at minimum until that repair work is completed it’s meaningful.
If they are told that the repair is estimated to take 2-3 days it’s meaningful.
And they can remind everyone that even when the transmission line issues are addressed, there may be smaller issues that would prevent them from getting power right away.
Instead the power companies are giving the same status updates to everyone.

There are thousands of unique communities. You want a specific message for each one. That would take a lot of manpower and overhead to get that specific message out. But you don’t want your energy bill going up either… take your pick.

This is retarded.
They could hire 100 people whose job is only to manage communication during emergencies like this and it wouldn't materially affect energy bills.

They gave a single estimate to everyone(which is a week from now).
Meanwhile, houses have been coming online before and after they received that estimate
I think you are a great example of someone who just doesn't get it.

They gave exactly what the people in this thread were begging for.
And just like I said would happen, people still aren’t happy.

People aren’t happy with a generic blanket. If someone across town got the same estimate then they know it’s worthless. Had they gotten “we’ve assessed your area and expect __” then people feel like progress is made. Which they gave people the impression that’s what was coming
And I say this as someone that now has power and just moved back in
