I coached a team a few years back and they had one of the other teams players with a mix that was announcing each batter. It was more just them goofing around and having a good time with it. I’m ok with that.

I am surprised Homer hasn't made a comeback. I guess you take a chance that you birth a Pete Rose instead of a Hank Aaron if you hang Homer on the kid.

I was at a restaurant today and they had the travel ball parents talking loudly about how to better play the walk up songs at their kids games... WTF?

Yeah that's pretty standard, $10 to get in and a wristband for that day. Next day? $10 more please. 12 and under in free.

I was in middle school in the late 80’s. It was a K-12 at the time. At the HS Baseball Games on campus they did this.

Settle down, Rand. Nance is working on that Tom Collins in your study now.

It’s moment like that where a John Belushi would come in handy.

My kids team does this (the announcer part, not the walk up music). He absolutely loves it - makes him smile every time. His enjoyment of the sport and excitement of hearing his name called is about the simplest joy on Earth.

I don’t give two shits about your worthless opinion on this topic.

ETA: I’ll admit that the hip hop concerts between innings of a 7 year old game are ridiculous.

They should have travel ball travel DJing, where DJs compete at travel ball events on best announcements and other DJing metrics.

We use this or something like it for our team. No announcer though. And pretty sure it isn't $3 a kid. The kids love it and a lot of the umpires dance to the music. Sorry you are triggered.

As a grandparent that has attended several games, this is correct.

$8-10 is the usual norm. They can kiss my arse on paying for a child under 16, I tell them to walk their arse straight in.
