Ballpark DJ is the “jumping the shark” moment for travel ball

I’m sure some of you travel ball baws use this.
You pay 2.99 per kid and a “professional” announcer says something like “now batting, Jaxxxxxson Baw” and a few seconds of walk up music plays.
Parents now bring Bluetooth speakers to games and blast this loud enough for everyone to hear.
I yearn for a simpler time...

I read this and now understand why that ump was packing in that thread from the a few days back. It wasn't to hurt anyone else. It was to install a sunroof in his skull when he's had enough of travel ball parents.

I was talking to someone last weekend. He was telling me his grandson plays travel ball and a few weeks earlier they had gone to watch him.. It cost him and his wife $20 each to get in... And had to pay that entry fee for the 3 games they went to.
