It sucks as he was trying to hastily push them along but a lot of fast traffic was behind this. Gotta keep everyone moving or hazards out of the way.

Not sure what your point is. I believe all migratory birds are federally protected.
A problem is that for a variety of reasons Canada geese are not migrating as they should.
A case in point is the the flock of Canada Geese living on Bayou St John/City Park. 100 years ago geese did not nest here. Now they do nest here.

Everyone needs to read the statement from the head of the state police.
Allegedly this cop and bystanders tried for a half hour to get the geese off the interstate. The cop had been told to go ahead and dispatch them.
Should it have been handled better? Probably. But it wasn’t the cop just killing for sport.
